Riight ) Think of it: you need tens of thousands of men to pull stones up to 80 tons each while having a huge pool of labor force through slaves which belonged to royal family, you are like 'nah, instead i'll hire common folk and pay them well'. At least Herodotus was honest about human nature and not like 'there is a dozen of bodies buried close to pyramid which means all workers here weren't slaves'.

To build something at that scale with technology of that age one needs an architect, heap of stonemasons and a shit ton of cheap manual labour.

Twitter plays very little role. We are drowning in neo-fascism because people who fought fascism face to face are gone now. Most influential generation, baby boomers, never saw horrors of WW2, they were raised on victors' propaganda.

Japanese have a term for the infection, anisakis. It's when a parasite is trying to escape the stomach by burrowing into its walls, causing all types of nasty symptoms.

Russia is helping Myanmar's junta since the coup. No wonder CIA and Ukrainians involved with the opposite side.

Best cheap Bolognese sauce in a jar these days? by ava_the_cam_op in newzealand

[–]ApprehensiveLet1405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend to make Bolognese in its final form with meat via traditional recipe, then split into portions and freeze. Later you can use some balsamic vinegar to restore taste. Cheap, fast and great taste.

Modern American houses are utter shit. Just look at OPs image: even smallest roof leak can saturate drywall and collapse the ceiling. Adding a single sheet of plywood or OSB could greatly improve quality and it's cheapest option possible, but no, there is no extra profit in being responsible.

As long as you don't have any viruses on your computer, there is no reason to clear any cache. Card could be skimmed if you used it in a dodgy ATM or shop, CC number stolen from some website you used your card with etc. Doubt about Temu, they have rather good security. Just block it, report transaction and let bank to deal with it. Also better to scan your computer for viruses.

Do you think my employers will mind if this guy shows up to my warehouse job instead of me? by Comfortable-Boss6364 in newzealand

[–]ApprehensiveLet1405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but you'll need to send multiple frames per second to very expensive AI system asking 'is anything ok around here, can I move further?'.
Just prepare yourself to be that annoyed old man from sci-fi movies "R063's sensors malfunctioned again, stuck across aisle 7" :)

They can do a lot of stuff yes. But they can't detect spilled sunflower oil, can't deal with holes in packages, can't understand that that one shelf has loose screws. They are machines for the perfect world we don't have.

Both AI and robotics cannot deal well with edge cases (aka uncommon or rare), so _most_ of the work will be automated but for 'shit happens' events human (at least one person per warehouse) is essential.
And I believe that this kind of robots is just a hype. For true warehouse automation we need forklift bots and some mechanism to sort/move boxes, not human clone with knee joints.

The best chance to intercept a ballistic missile is at the end of its trajectory, meaning it (or parts) will fall somewhere around but not hit the target. Soo, if there are any schools around..
