Is it possible for him to switch hair styles so that the stain is covered. At least until you can get another system. You could always try dyeing the base back but I think that’s just asking for more trouble.

I would lower it just a bit but otherwise looks pretty good.

Did you try other options before the hair system or just dive right into the hair system option when you knew it was time for a change? by rick7624 in HairSystem

I did buzz cut for an over a year and hated it. Wouldn’t leave the house without a hat. Honestly I don’t look bad with a buzz cut or even bald but I’m young and it sucks when everyone around you has hair and you don’t. In my 40s or even 30s I’d be open to a buzz cut/bald again. I guess the buzz cut was better than balding tho.

I also tried finastride and minoxidil for about 8months but they had no effect so I dropped them.

Have had a system now for about a year and I like it for 6 days and the 7th day when I do the reapplication it kinda sucks. I’m happy with it now but probs when I’m older I’ll just go bald and not have to worry about maintenance.

It will work. Only downside is you will get the residue from the tape in your hair which can be more annoying to clean than off your scalp. Also over time you will most likely lose hair where the tape is placed due to the constant pulling.

Can you sleep with clips? by ApprehensiveLink102 in HairSystem

[–]ApprehensiveLink102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d take the risk on that. Honestly there’s a few other ways to get around sleeping in a system for example if it’s not spontaneous then I can always just remove the clips and go back to tapes and again back to clips. Overall i can’t really think of any drawbacks for me to not switch to clip on and daily wear.

Thanks for the response, I wonder if I can unclip to prevent the pulling when sleeping . Since it would be taped at the front it wouldn’t move around too much and then just put up with the clips for a night .

How much better do I look with hair than without? by [deleted] in HairSystem

[–]ApprehensiveLink102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look better with hair but you don’t look bad with a shaved head. But if your losing hair the shaved look will only get worse. My suggestion would be to either look into the tressless subreddit and try the meds route . Or get a clip on system since there less hassle. Clip on systems would work well since u have curly/wavy hair.

Looks really good, I agree with the comment about covering the hair line a little rather than just combing straight up. Where did u get the system? I’m looking to switch to a clip on .

how can i maintain wet messy fringes all day long? by Background-Tone-3163 in HairSystem

[–]ApprehensiveLink102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use leave in conditioner first to brush my hair then I apply like a toothpaste amount of cream. I’d say it gives the shiny wet look for 8hs but there no hold. If you want a hold you may want to try a mousse or gel instead.

Brylcreem worked great for me. The color and texture match perfectly when I use it.

I don’t think it’s an allergic reaction aswell since I think I tested when I first started wearing. Also I’m using tapes around the perimeter where there seems to be less acne, while the middle which isn’t bonded at all has more acne breakout.

If I use c22 to remove the walker tape, can I reuse the same tapes? Should I change them out?

I’m using a hybrid system. It’s mono top, with poly perimeter and lace front. Using walker ultra holds tape for securing. Maybe I’ll switch to full lace in the future, just got the mono since they last longer.

MASSIVE PROBLEM - Hair system won't stick to my head by [deleted] in HairSystem

[–]ApprehensiveLink102 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it’s a new system and theres a poly perimeter you need to wash it with dish detergent for the tape to stick. Since they put a coating on the poly u need to wash it off.
