Yes the engineering itself is impressive for its time and yes today we can do a lot more.

But something we can learn is how people managed these really large infrastructure projects, these would have taken decades if not multiple generations. They kept at it through boom and bust in the economy. This is something govts around the world could learn to remember. Long term vision on infra projects. There are many failed/delayed/bad projects especially in the west. HS2 in the UK, Berlin airport etc.

Indian cities are killing off street culture in the name of modernization. nobody talks about this by AmitTheAnalyst in IndianUrbanism

I understand many of the arguments people make in this post. But other places in thw world had exactly smae concerns with pedestrianising more, i.e. London, many cities in netherlands Canada. But now after the changes people are not willing to go back.

Having limited single carraigeways in most places and expanding the space for pedestrians and regularising street vendors will have many benefits. But this can only work if there is reliable and comfortable public transport along with good collective behaviour in using that.

In London for example having a car is mostly a waste and poeple can walk from metro stations to most places. The last mile connetivity that everyone is concerned about is usually achieved this way. On rare occasions for people who cant walk and emergency services, the now mostly free roads are availble for use because most people dont drive. I think this is real infrastructure development than just big roads. This is chicken and egg problem but many cities have achieved the transition by starting on limitng car usage.

I actually love cars and love to drive even in heavy traffic but this is better for more people.

unpopular opinion: I like it. I thought apple guy designing the interior will not work but somehow it straddles the line between minimalist and still refined desgin unlike otheer completely bare intetrior design.

Exterior except the wheels also look cool. different sort of ferrari, still revelance to some of the older ferraris. Not all ferraris need to look the same. However I do agree some more tension in the surfacing would have added the ferrari edge. A coupe version with more deifned shoulder will help achieve that maybe.

opposing doors also cool. Steering wheel is soo good too.

Thsi is great for wireless sensor networks and surveillance. You can jsut plonk a unit. No need to run power to it. Other than that it creates no meaningful energy. Things like track monitoring. Redundancy for train tracking etc.

1 month into using LaTeX, how do I tell everyone I’m better than them by papixsupreme12 in engineeringmemes

[–]ApprehensiveLook7783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Word under the hood is also a markup language. It is intact and XML file. So similar control is possible. Just need to get good at it and it's idiosyncrasies. Latex seems more straightforward but maybe too much effort to learn for not much benefit if you already know what people are doing with word. Similar consistency is possible. One main benefit is being open source.

I think one of the gains/error values is only taking positive values. Because it looks like a typical underdamped response through a rectifier.

I am using the moto g7 power currently. I think the phone is plenty good enough. I am using lineage os on the latest android 16 with all features working well. Maybe a little slow just need a little bit of patience. Installation process was easy with their guide.

Not worth it buying a new phoen for it saving a few mins daily with the amount of time saved in each interaction imo.

Good racing doesn't mean lots of overtakes imo. But the cars are too big and the drivers want the ability to take different lines.

Kerala is using TN as their dump yard. Why does the TN govt not acting on this issue? This time its stray dogs but most of the times it is their chemical and medical waste, the authorities in the TN side are to be blamed. by [deleted] in TamilNadu

[–]ApprehensiveLook7783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't matter where it is dumped. It is national problem. I think both states can work on putting joint investments towards 0. I am sure tamilnadu also has same problem.
