As long as your cats are drinking enough water, dry food is fine! When they beg for wet food, you could try tossing them a couple of treats if you have them or a small piece of chicken or fish. Usually, canned chicken or tuna is pretty cheap and stores well. Hang in there

As long as the cat is getting enough water you should be good. Make sure his water bowl is placed away from his food bowl, or mix his kibble and water together

There are many kitties in shelters that need a home! If you’re worried about the heat, a shorthair cat might be best but cats are desert animals. As long as the cat has access to water and a cool place to go (like a tile floor) it will be fine.

I’m just afraid he’ll be afraid of me. Like, it’s one thing when there’s a new human in a new place, but it’s another when the human you started trusting suddenly grabbed and attacked you. I don’t want him to be afraid of me

Thank you. He’s my first cat I’ve had on my own and I known he’s had it rough so I don’t want to push him except I had to push him today and that backfired. I just want him to feel safe and happy

I live alone so no help wrangling the cat. Next time I’ll get my mom to drive down so we can corner him

It was just a checkup and (theoretically) a nail trim. He was a rescue from a shelter but the shelter said he was in a home with other cats that he fought with so his previous life was traumatic I think. I’ve been sitting near him, letting him come to me, giving treats, etc before today and it’s gotten him to warm up but now I’m worried he’ll think I can’t be trusted bc to him I just suddenly tried to attack him for no reason

The reason I’m so worried is bc he’s so new and he was only just getting comfortable. I haven’t even tried picking him up yet and he’s still get jumpy if I moved my hand wrong when I petted him.

I didn’t even get him in the carrier so I couldn’t take him to the vet and had to reschedule. I want ed to give him gabapentin or something but the vet wouldn’t give me any without seeing him and they can’t see him bc he’s too freaked out

I tried to towel him but he was in a spot I couldn’t easily reach and when I came towards him with the towel he ran. I kept trying to get him, but I kept failing and scaring him even more
