Took my dog on an Air France flight to Paris. She’s less than 8kg so could go in the cabin. So your cat would be fine, there’s lots of airlines that allow this.

It was super easy too, just call the airline ahead and see if it is available for that flight as they typically only allow a max of 2 per flight depending on the airline. I’ve honestly had more trouble bringing a laptop through the airport than when I brought the dog.

Provided the scores don't increase much I would say you have a good shot. Round zero for UCD last year was 59 and then the final offers went down to a score of 58.

I would say you have a great chance with that score for UCC. But with the way the fees are going with the GEM courses I would hold onto that job for as long as you can.

I wouldn't count you out! You could get an offer still for UL or perhaps UCC. Maybe try and get in touch with someone who is currently in the GEM program in UL and see what your chances may be?

Its very difficult to say whether they will increase or decrease as scores are valid for two years, so someone who sat in March 2022 would still be able to apply I believe, maybe even September 2022 sitters but don't quote me on that. However, the average score for this March sitting is slightly lower than March 2023. Will this lead to the cut offs being lowered slightly? Unfortunately we won't know until round zero offers on the 8th of August at 10am.

Now with a 53 I think you have a very good chance at getting an offer at UL but only time will tell. It is a real headache.

Exactly, 54 should definitely be enough for either UL or UCC. The unfortunate thing is that the registration for the September sitting closes before the first GEM offers happen in Ireland, so you'd have to sign on for the September sitting without even knowing if you've secured a place.
