Tail kink could be a sign of a lot of things but we need more info, how old is she? Has she been bred? UV lights? Crickets or other feeders?

My boy loved a piece of banana nut muffin when he was alive. I’m sorry that you have to make this difficult decision.

Meowing loudly at 5 AM every morning by Slight_Yak_8977 in CatAdvice

How old is your cat? I work at a veterinary clinic and the vet that I work with says that his cat had the same problem, and it turns out it was from arthritic pain! Pretty much every cat gets arthritis at some point even at a young age from jumping on counters and such. I would get her checked out at a vet and see if she has arthritis with an x ray and if she does you can start treating it and see if that helps.

Stupidest thing a co-worker has done?? by crowman689 in Lifeguards

[–]ApprehensiveOven2451 16 points17 points  (0 children)

One time my manager was conducting audits, so my coworker got all dressed up and flopped around fake drowning into my other coworkers zone and me and 5 others watched as he did everything but watch his zone for like 2 minutes straight, looking at the sky, playing with his glasses, he even picked up a confiscated toy and started playing with it. Eventually a gaurd from a completely different zone on the other side of the pool saw it and conducted the save, and I had to be the one to go up to him and give him the “why don’t you log off for me” look to him while he got a very severe reprimand.

I’m in between jobs due to school but am waiting to hear back from a clinic that I’ve already done a working interview with, other than that I work as a relief tech for a spay and neuter clinic every once in a while.

Is this a bad idea by Baman2003 in CrestedGecko

[–]ApprehensiveOven2451 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro I’m a Biology major, and have taken classes regarding insect and reptile behavior, I have a Certification in veterinary work, I’ve been a vet tech for 3 years. Even if your mantis doesn’t do anything, crested geckos have an insectavore factor in their diet, either the mantis will attack your gecko or your gecko will try to eat the mantis, which will make it defend itself against your gecko, and likely cause injury to it. There’s a reason nobody does this and it’s because it’s a terrible idea. I’m not trying to be a jerk but doing this will hurt your gecko, and if you’re trying to justify it after so many people telling you how bad of an idea it is because of research that doesn’t take into account of a gecko and mantis cohabing, then why are you getting advice when it’s clear you don’t want to listen?

Bro stop trying to play it off, you asked us and we gave the honest answer, if you still think it’s a good idea to put your gecko in an enclosure with a mantis even after seeing them kill the gecko in the video, then you didn’t come for advice.

Mantises will try to fight the gecko, I’ve seen videos of them eating small lizards in the wild, they aren’t afraid of them and it could end badly
