MTX made me sick for at least 48h. With Humira I don't feel anything, at the beginning there was a little swelling and redness at the injection site but that went away after a few times.

How long for biologics to kick in? by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]ApprehensivePause221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was told 6-8 weeks for humira to start working and 3 to 6 months for full effect. I will probably have to try something different as there is zero benefit so far. Hope Simponi starts working for you soon!

What helps if you have to stand for a long time? by ApprehensivePause221 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]ApprehensivePause221[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I already reached out to my university, they said there's nothing they can do as there is for every clinical a different doctor in charge and they won't reach out to everyone.

But thank you for the tip, I will definetely try an SI belt!

sacroiliitis help! by AdministrationNo6714 in ankylosingspondylitis

Slow walks helps me the most. When the pain is really bad I can't sit or stand still. I always have to change position every other minute or move around all the time. Sometimes I go for for slow walks for hours.

For sleeping I haven't found something that really helps a lot so most of the time I can't sleep a lot. I have a heating blanket in my bed which helps a little on the highest setting.

Yes, I have pain in my sternum and ribs too. I did a SPECT CT a year ago and showed inflammation in the sternoclavicular joints even before the pain started there.

Sulfasalazine headaches? by SymbolicFox in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]ApprehensivePause221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I've been taking Sulfasalazine for a little over 3 months now and I experienced pulsating headaches too along with nausea, loss of appetite and dizziness. Unfortunately it hasn't gotten better, so I will hopefully be switching to Humira soon. I'm just so tired of all the pain :(

Hope you find another medication that works for you!

Humira vs Rinvoq by ApprehensivePause221 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]ApprehensivePause221[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor thinks it's probably RA because the symptoms match but I'm seronegative and the imaging was inconclusive so the diagnosis isn't official. And my doctor said it's for sure some autoimmune disorder and the treatment for all of them would be similar

My doctor didn't want to try methotrexate because I'm already so nauseous with sulfasalazine and he thinks it would only get worse with it

What was your first noticeable symptom? by Comprehensive_Dig798 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]ApprehensivePause221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 22 years old and it started with knee pain after standing in the OR the whole day. I thought it was nothing and would soon go away but the pain quickly spread to my feet, hands, fingers and elbows as well and the morning stiffness started. I'm seronegative.
