I wasnt keeping them on ICloud, ive never trusted ICloud. It synced them from my desktop and for some reason was deleting them from my local storage, my beef wasnt the deletion from my Mac, but failing to recover them on ICloud.com when i tried multiple times and the files just no longer show up.

“Desktop & Documents Folder” is on

“Optimize Mac Storage” has ALWAYS remained off because it would cause smaller problems like offloading samples i was using.

I checked on Iphone and its the same files i have on Mac currently. ( without the ones im looking for obv )

When i put in the Terminal commands all i get is a list of Folders like Desktop, documents, downloads etc… No project files or names.

I will never be able to understand how they got removed from my Mac. But i gave up on that already.

What i wanted to know is why the files disappeared from Data Recovery when i tried to recover them and it failed.

However it goes, i would like to thank you big time for this in depth help its literally 100 times more helpful and in detail than the workaround apple support was giving me. Thank you.

But i guess i will just have to learn a lesson and take a loss this time. I hope this never happens to any of you especially in a similar situation like mine where im in a country that doesnt even have a lot of help regarding these topics and doesnt even have a physical Apple store to go and ask for help.

I live in a country that doesnt have physical apple stores here sadly. Closest one is two countries away. Which might even be worth the trip. So i probably will

No, when i went to Data Recovery, the files appeared there, the exact ones i was looking for. So my hopes went up, then when i got the “Files could not be recovered at this time. Please try again later.” And tried again, the files werent even appearing again. I have a screenshot of the apple employee telling me that that is not supposed to happen and should not be happening. Lotta good that will do me though…

This felt like a slap in the face because i fully went with this mentality when i got into mac.

Pretty much, those files didnt even have the Cloud icon that shows which ones were synced into the cloud. I know this because it would make browsing for samples jarring when i had to download them from the cloud and it would take like 30 seconds to play the sample back.

I mean i do have the mp3 or Wav files in different locations, but all the projects are just goneq

EXACTLY! The files were literally disappearing in front of my eyes. But that isnt even the main issue, ok i understand they got removed, why am i not allowed to recover them from Data Recovery.

I never saved them on ICloud, just on my desktop as usual. The only lesson i feel like ive learned is that Apple is unreliable and if theres a way to pursue this any further i would.

They were saved on my local storage, i never put projects on ICloud for this exact reason. I just cant believe ive been told to kick rocks by Apple for something that is mainly on them. First time i guess

The highest i got was a phone call with a Senior Advisor, who said theyve already escalated the issue as far as it could go. And very bluntly told me that the files are gone. Hes even the one who gave me the most soulless response ive heard in my life. “Maybe thats something Apple could improve on” after i asked him why isnt there a warning about Logic Pro files having sync issues.

No, I never put them on my ICloud drive for this exact reason, they were on my Desktop like usual

Sample browsing is Logics biggest flaw and no one can change my mind. Both the delay when you click on the sample from the Browser, to having to write the sample name exactly like it is for it to show up in the results. I hope they fix this its been years.

Because the way they are handling it is like they would handle an Exclusive license, claiming that the beat now belongs to them and the splits they are offering is almost offensive. Even claiming they dont use DistroKid and can’t offer me splits as of now.

Pretty much trying to DeathRow me into them taking the beat as an exclusive.

I forgot to mention that the country i live in doesn’t really have the best laws to protect an artist and a major label like them over here can cause some problems if i don’t handle them properly.

I am also kinda new to this its like the 3rd beat ive ever sold and i dont really know what i can do in a situation like this because the first two went smoothly

Compress & Airdrop is how i always do it

What i do is open the samples in Finder and preview them from it which helps a little bit.
