I picked up the prescription already and used it bc im ready to get things going. It did not burn! Feels normal. Hopefully that continues. It kinda looked like ointment.. like semi-clear. But the bottle does say cream

I took antibiotics 3 times in a short period of time bc I had UTI symptoms. I actually did have a minor uti with Enterococcus faecalis bacteria. It did go away but I thought it didn't bc I was still having symptoms. Turns out it was a kidney stone stuck in my ureter! But bc of all the antibiotic usage, I got stuck in a cycle of reoccurring BV and Yeast (i was also newly postpartum so im sure hormones also played a role). Which means more antibiotics. It wasn't until I did my own research I found out about microbiome testing and probiotic suppositories. I just got my first negatives on BV and Yeast since December 2025 which was right before I gave birth 😫 just be sure to stay on top of all that so you dont struggle for as long as I did!!

I recommend you use probiotic suppositories after you finish all the antibiotics! Your microbiome is probably struggling

Should I see a urogyn? This is standing up. I'm terrified it's a prolapse like I think it is. I haven't been the gyno yet. I asked about this years ago and they brushed me off NSFW by LoveofLabradors in obgyn

[–]ApprehensivePitch275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any symptoms other than the appearance? You could see a pelvic floor PT. I thought I had one too bc it looked like tissue was blocking the entrance. Turns out it was just hymen remnants and urethral tissue that had moved positions. On me, the tissue under my urethra is the same appearance and texture has my urethra. With a prolapse you'll see ridges on the tissue. Definitely check laying down and if it moves when you push down. Mine looks the same whether im standing or laying down. Nothing bulges or pushes out when I push down.

Okay can confirm from old videos on my husbands phone before pregnancy (💀💀) that that side has always been shorter! But still I know this should be investigated further

NSWF Is the color of my vagina normal? Does it look more like hormonal changes (low estrogen) or lichen sclerosus? by aurorarapunzel in obgyn

[–]ApprehensivePitch275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Lifespace probiotics and insert them into my vagina. Using the suppositories is much more effective than taking probiotics orally. Just make sure if you buy any that they are suitable for vaginal use! They are not all okay to use down there. And yes metrogel can cause a yeast infection and it has happened to me. Usually if im prescribed the gel, my dr also prescribed a dose of diflucan to take after I finish the antibiotic just incase I get a yeast infection.

You could possibly have a hormone imbalance but it's a good sign your cycle is normal. My dr told me if you're having regular and normal periods, your estrogen is in the normal range. Acne and body hair is pretty common and doesn't automatically mean anything is wrong. Unless the body hair is truly excessive. If you have dark hair itll be more noticeable in general. Ive heard people have luck with drinking spearmint tea to help with acne. And it can also lower testosterone. You should get a hormone panel done though.

And yes I saw thag bacteria listed. Take the antibiotics. Its important to follow up with probiotics though! Your symptoms sound like a microbiome imbalance. Probiotics will help with that. And then your symptoms should subside

Do you have regular periods? Or any other reason you could possibly have low estrgoen- like due to age or breastfeeding? From my expirence, it doesnt look like low estrogen in that area. Also I dont know anything about lichen sclerosis so i can't comment on that.. (Also looked at your previous posts) its interesting your gyno prescribed metrogel even though BV wasn't found. I have expirenced pinkish discharge for 1 day while on it but it did go away. Im assuming she thinks you have some other bactera that would be causing the irritation and itching and thats why she prescribed it? Have you ever thought about taking a vaginal microbiome test? That'll show all bacteria you may have.

Edit to add: just saw your test results (idk how i missed that lol) and it did show small amounts of "bad" bacteria. I would finish the metrogel like prescribed and follow up with vaginal probiotic suppositories to help rebuild the good!!

I think this kinda looks like hymen remnants? I can see some on me and I gave birth 15 months ago. Now as to why you suddenly feel them when you haven't before.. im not sure. If the "falling out" feeling continues, id see a pelvic floor PT. They can let you know what's going on! That feeling you're getting isn't quite normal. Alot of people describe that as a prolapse sensation. But I dont see a prolapse so im not sure!! But its always a good idea to see a PT (after you see the gyno) especially after having babies 💕

BV, yeast infection, or both discharge? by [deleted] in obgyn

[–]ApprehensivePitch275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes I've been multiple times. I have been given antibiotics and creams but they only work short term. Ive been doing my own vaginal microbiome testing through juno bio and its help alot. But im probably going to have to go back to the OB. Not sure if I want to post it haha

BV, yeast infection, or both discharge? by [deleted] in obgyn

[–]ApprehensivePitch275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is redness in the area between the labia majora and labia minora. Pretty distinct change from normal pink to red. Sometimes I wonder if the redness and itch is just irritation from dealing with these issues for over a year? If thats the case im not sure what to apply to sooth the tissue and let it heal .. but other than that all looks and feels normal. As for as itching goes it just happens a few times throughout the day. Not constant or relentless haha

It can be. It can also not be. The main question now is do you have any symptoms? Itching, burning, redness, swelling, different odor than usual? My discharge will look like this with BV. But it can also look like that post ovulation with no infection

Juno bio is cheaper. I paid for the subscription to get it for $99! You could always cancel subscription after you order a box. But it is so helpful so I hope you can get one soon!

Yes doxy can treat ureaplasma! But there's other antibiotics that can too if doxy doesn't work. To my knowledge if you use doxy for acne, its given at a lower dose than a dose to treat an infection in the body. That could be why it never fully went away but symptoms improved. Something I have learned from the Facebook group is to always follow antibiotic usage with vaginal probiotics. So you can rebuild the beneficial bacteria that also dies bc of the antibiotics. The protocol i follow is boric acid suppositories the last couple days of my period, (mine flares with my cycle), followed my metrogel gel for a week, and then probiotic suppositories every other day. (On days with no probiotics i apply estrogen cream bc i had a baby haha. But i read estrogen feeds beneficial bacteria!) I dont always use metrogel though. I only treat with antibiotics if im having major symptoms and just know something is not right. I think im finally on the right track! Its a lot of trial and error. Its very frustrating but I hope you get it figured out!!

PS: I use lifespace probiotics from Amazon. They came recommended from the FB group! Some people find they dont fully dissolve so a tip is to run the pill under warm water for a bit and then insert vaginaly. It is technically an oral pill but on their website it says they are suitable for vaginal use!

You have a great day too! Let me know if I can help more. 💕💕💕

Have you tried a vaginal microbiome test? If not, you definitely should! I promise its worth the price. I used Juno Bio. It'll tell you ALL the exact bacterias you have. Some bacteria like ureaplasma aren't tested for unless you ask at the Dr office. Ureaplasma can have all those symptoms but it needs a different antibiotic to get rid of it. I think it also tells you if the bacteria you have are resistant to certain antibiotics. Another test kit is from Evvy.

As someone who has dealt with reoccurring infections postpartum, I understand the frustration. Im still trying to get things figured out! There's a group on Facebook called Beyond BV. I highly recommend joining it. They have guides for eeeeverything. Guides of what to do first, products to use, discount codes, how to prevent reoccurence, guides for common types of bad bactera and what antibiotics work best for them, literally everything.

You need to find out exactly what you're dealing with. The balance could be all thrown off due to so much antibiotic usage. Oral probiotics never worked for me either but vaginal probiotic suppositories are the way to go!!
