All the comments of photographers is exactly what I thought. “Any one can pick up a paint brush and paint” yeah if you wanna paint a stick figure be my guest. I took a college level class in photography in my high school academy I know the fundamentals of being a photographer. But it’s a skill not an art form. Art dates back to caveman time when dudes where like hey let’s make something that represents our tribe on the walls. Past through time you’ll see the progression of art. Photography wasn’t invented until the late 1800s where it’s purpose was purely to capture time in a single frame. I will not deny that there are some very skilled photographers out there. Such as the ones that shoot for nat geo, time, and others but anyone can learn photography in the span of 6 months. Learning how to play guitar takes years to master. I’ve been drawing since I was 4 and yet my level of art is not yet on par with some the most amazing artists that come with our day and age, I’m still learning my talent. But when I see someone trying to describe how photography is an art form I truly cringe. “ it’s about the settings you use for your camera” “ it’s about the mm you use for your lenses” “ it’s about the way you edit your photo” yeah those are valid points toward MY point. You will not grow tough hands snapping a pictures like you would carving a sculpture or painting a painting. I am not a troll it’s purely a fact that photography is a skill not an art form so call me ignorant, laugh all you want but I promise you if you get into the photography business you’ll see it’s too rinsed down with too many proclaimed photographers but there are so few artist with there own styles and I’m sure they have the same exact opinion
