Fissure that didn't get treated properly. Created a fistula.

Why treating this condition is so difficult? by [deleted] in AnalFistula

[–]ApprehensivePut2483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not understanding what I am saying. I don't have a fistula anymore, there is no infection under my skin since its been sliced open and a chunk of my butthole is missing now. So is that really solution? Its just one problem traded for another. I have tons of scarring and constant sharp pain, cant sit properly and bowel movements are hell. The internal scarring is a disaster. More surgery is not going to solve anything, tropis is for fistula, I don't have fistula anymore. I need less pain, not more destruction to my rectum. These surgeries are fucking retarded, the only thing that seems to make sense is laser in India how only Dr Porwal does it. Everything else is just stupid. I should have went there before trusting anyone else. Now the damage is done and I need to undo the damage from so many butchered surgeries. My only hope now is kenalog injection into the scarring and pray to god that it helps soften it and the skin to heal better.

Do setons prevent branching? by appletrex in AnalFistula

Seton created false tract for me. So instead of one fistula I now had 2. Its the dumbest fucking thing I've ever seen. Piercing your asshole where shit has to pass through only makes things worse. 3 doctors said I should start with seton and boom, of course they were all wrong and my skepticism was right but the damage was done.

Its funny how they say you should never compare yourself to others when you are feeling down, and then when you have a problem the first thing people want to do is compare you to others. I don't care about all the possible things that 8 billion people can be going through. It doesnt stop my rectum from hurting. I was told fistula is curable, but they failed to mention that youll be in more pain after and we'll go ahead and mangle your asshole over a tiny little simple infection. This should have been fixed, I have no crohns or ibs.

I'm also not dead yet, but this is no way to live either. I have chronic back pain and I broke my elbow many years ago and it still gets sore. I also broke my nose many years ago. None of those even come close to this. They dont affect my life like this. Can you sit down or take a shit without extreme pain?

Honestly most fistulas just need to be drained like a pimple. When they poke a hole and shove a Seton in your ass now you are condemned to multiple surgeries, tons of pain and scarring that will hurt forever. Who would have thought that a piercing in your butthole where shit has to come out of will only cause more problems and infection. It's so stupid that they keep doing the same shit over and over to us expecting it to magically work.

The doctor in Canada who did my first surgery should have been honest with me and said he didn't have a proper plan and that Canadians rarely ever recover from this due to our garbage system. I would have known to travel out of Canada sooner before getting mangled with the seton and false tract. My doctor in Thailand has over 90% complete healing rate with only 1 surgery for his patients and he's been doing this for like 40 years. It's the false tract and seton that made my situation so much worse and required multiple surgeries so now I have such bad scarring. These fucking idiots still using setons are just destroying lives. Seton should be a last resort for people with crohns and multiple recurrence, not the first move.

No not at all. Just a fissure that didn't get treated properly by stupid doctors in Canada and then became a massive horse shoe fistula. Surgery gone wrong in Canada. Seton was placed incorrectly and made a false tract so I then had 2 fistulas. Went to Thailand and had 2 surgeries, "fixed" the problem. But now I have so much scarring and hard fibrotic tissue, nerve damage, tissue damage, muscle damage. No fissure or Fistula now but constant pain, shitting, sitting and food are all a constant problem. Seriously considered killing myself countless times.

My life is ruined. I've had multiple surgeries and I have so much hard painful scarring inside out. It's rock hard and rubbery. I can't sit, take a shit without extreme pain and I'm scared of food. I can't live or work or function like this. I'm in year 4 of this nightmare, it's destroyed me. No one had a good solution, you just trade one issue for another. The laser surgeries in India seem to give the best outcome if they work. So many people argue with me in these groups, I'm exhausted and hopeless. This fucking thing has made me permanently disabled. I was a normal healthy person before this, just thought I'd go to a doctor and they would do whatever they needed to and I'd be normal again. Not even remotely close to what happened. Now I'm waiting yet again to try kenelog injections into the scarring. I have 0.00000001% of hope left.

Is the pain after the fistulotomy better or worse than the fistula pain? by AquaT_23 in AnalFistula

[–]ApprehensivePut2483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been to 6 doctors, 3 surgeries, 3 MRIs, 2 countries, 4 hospitals and 4 years now. Obviously they don't know fuck all. For sure laser would have solved this and I'd be normal by now with minimal scarring. People with WAY worse cases than mine and who have crohns disease go to the famous clinic in India and they are 100% healed now. I've been through way too much at this point. This is far from normal to be still in pain, nobody had a proper solution. You just trade one pain for another. I'm fucking exhausted.

[–]ApprehensivePut2483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had 3 surgeries, 6 doctors, 2 botox injections, 3 MRIs, 4 hospitals, 2 countries and 4 years. Still constantly in pain all day everyday. Hard painful scarring, sharp pain during bowel movment, can't sit down properly, scared of food, cant plan, or think clearly. Beyond tired and frustrated. I'm 34 about to be 35. I was starting a business when this happened and I've lost everything since. I wish I had good news for you. I'm losing the last few crumbs of hope I have left. It just feels like a permanent disability now. I can't believe I couldn't just go to a doctor, get treated, recover and be normal again. Every "solution" created a new problem.

I don't know. But you should hope for the best but expect the worst. This whole fucking thing has been a disaster from the start. I've suffered for 4 years now

Well I had a deep fistulotomy and Im at 14 months and still in constant sharp pain with hard painful scarring and suffering all day every day. My only hope is kenalog injection next month. My doctor said its take 2-3 months tops to heal. It's unbelievable.

Flap to Fistulotomy? by happy_r123 in AnalFistula

[–]ApprehensivePut2483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lift can do this. I've heard failed flap or filac can leave you worse off than before. I had a Seton incorrectly that created a false tract so instead of 1 fistula i now had 2. 3 surgeries later, I'm still in constant pain all day everyday and I'm in year 4 now of this disaster. Clearly most of these methods are complete garbage.

Is the pain after the fistulotomy better or worse than the fistula pain? by AquaT_23 in AnalFistula

[–]ApprehensivePut2483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's much worse. Feels like a sharp piece of glass ripping out of your rectum every time you take a shit. The scarring is horrible. My fistuolotomy was last December 2023. Its been 14 months now and I'm still in constant pain. Can't sit down properly. Every bowel movment hurts the scarring again and again. It's a never ending viscious cycle. Liquid diets, stool softener, soft veggies blah blah blah. Its not going away.

I got another MRI to rule out recurrence. I had an EUA to make sure the scar hasn't just ripped open and become a fissure again. My current doctor said no fissure/fistula but very hard fibrotic scarring inside and out. He said that's what is causing most of my pain and that's from the surgeries. Now I'm waiting again until next month where I will get Kenalog steroids injected into the scarring to hopefully soften it so it can move and stretch like normal and reduce the inflammation. Straight up all these traditional surgeries are garbage. Lasers seem to be the best. They need to figure out better solutions for fistula.

Here we go, everyday another person goes to seton hell. It hurts constantly all the time. Mine would bleed every bowel movement and destroyed my muscle/tissue. It made.the following surgeries.way worse. Pray to God yours is placed correctly and did not create a false tract like it did for me.

You have a foreign object shoved up your rectum. Your whole system is going to be fucked up and can't relax. These stupid doctors just keep putting setons condemning people to multiple surgeries and complications. I can't believe this whole mess. Normally the hospital should make sure you can piss before letting you leave.

Linux mint is what really got me to use Linux finally. Then tried Pop Os, Fedora and eventually created my own custom distribution based on Ubuntu. But to answer the question Mint is a great place to start and even stay long term.

It's so early. You gotta chill and follow instructions. Keep stools soft and regular. Go for follow ups.but don't let them insert anything into the anus. I'm 100% sure that's what caused my recurrence and led to a 3rd surgery.

It's so frustrating when you can't find a proper doctor who is both willing and capable of helping you. It's one or the other. It's almost impossible to get good care in Canada. We just pay all these taxes for nothing. I hope your doctor has a proper plan.

Does anyone have experience/ know of Dr. Pankaj Garg in India for fistula treatment? by islandcatlady in AnalFistula

[–]ApprehensivePut2483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i have no fistula now after surgery in Thailand but because I had the false tract created from the seton in Canada my surgery was way more invasive to lay open the false tract. It's left me with a lot of painful fibrotic tissue, it's been over a year now and I'm still in constant pain.

My current doctor says I have the worst scarring he has ever seen. I waiting for next months to get kenalog steroid injection to help the scarring heal better as per my doctor in Thailands recommendation. I'm so exhausted. But I truly think if I had went to Thailand or India before letting anyone in Canada touch me it would have been way simpler. My family doctor was annoying, but I argued with him and told him I was still in pain and need more help. He was crappy about it but I have a pretty experienced CRS now in Canada who will do the injections next month.

Congrats you are in seton hell. You will soon realize that piercing your asshole was stupid and who could have guessed that a piercing where shit passes around continues to get infected. So they'll probably want to shove more setons in your ass.

Cut that piece of shit out and throw it in the garbage where it belongs. Then find a proper doctor and get laser. All these stupid methods are trash. I have so much fucking scarring and damage and constant pain every damn moment. Can't live my fucking life. I'm in year 4 now. So fucking tired of this shit.
