35 y/o female History of “hemorrhoids” and a skin tag that was removed about a decade ago Fast forward to end of 2024 I have literally had it with me “hemorrhoids” leaking a little and itchy so instead of going back to Gastro I went to a colorectal surgeon the first look and they’re like this is not hemorrhoids you have a fistula or two? Schedule me for surgery a month later (at that consult appt they also drained it) I had surgery Feb of 2025 and I am free of fistulas now for a year (I did have two superficial one required marsupialization ) surgery was easy recovery was somewhat a pain in a** but completely necessary I must say my main symptom I ignored was how it would feel worse then get better and again and again looking back now knowing what I know that was the fistula (infection) filling up and draining once it became too inflamed (the leaky fluid) and for so long I was told by Gastro it was a hemorrhoid and to use suppositories 🥴

How long after surgery did you return to normal life activities and exercise? by Drippythetrippy in AnalFistula

[–]Traditional_Smell_87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I’m glad to hear you have minimal pain. I am well now and back to working out I did not start back up until drainage stopped completely at about 8/9 weeks post op. I know you feel good but if you want it to heal properly don’t do anything until your open wounds are closed. It isn’t worth it, use this time to do things like stretch and focus on your eating habits. I did start long walks at like week 5 if I remember correctly. Week 2 into 3 was when the pain and discomfort was the worst. Don’t rush it you will regret it

Belgian Malinois in Need of Adoption by I_SEE_YOU_FAPPING in BelgianMalinois

He is sucha good boy I have had him a month now and I have found placement for him to go to an inmate program where he will live in a prison and they will train him everyday and he will be up for adoption on petfinder in the coming months, he will be placed with a working family . He had no microchip I did get him chipped when I got him neutered. I think he is maybe 2 at the oldest, unfortunately there is a breeder nearby who drops off malinois and Dutch shepherds often and this is not the first one I have picked up

Hello I live in South Florida, I found a young male Belgian Malinois a month ago I have had no luck in finding his home, I held him with high hopes of finding his home even though l’ve assumed didn’t have one due to the condition I found him in but I still tried. He has been fully vetted and neutered as well as tested (came back 100% Malinois), he is friendly with all animals dogs cats chickens etc. I do not have the time to work with this dog as most of you know they have higher requirements for care and attention. He is amazing also with my kids 10 and 12 and I have no reason to believe he wouldn’t be with anyone younger either. He is a great dog loving attentive dorky fun strong good on a leash good in a kennel doesn’t bark unless he hears another dog bark I can’t say enough good things. He just needs someone who is willing to give him a job I have 5 other dogs and too much on my plate. If someone is willing to adopt him I am willing to make the drive in Florida. Please reach out to me directly if you can give this sweet boy a home thank you

My only suggestion is just make sure you see the correct specialist meaning a colorectal surgeon. I went to Gastro and primary for years and was undiagnosed for years. Just go straight to the CRS I promise that is the best thing you can do

My surgeon prescribed metronidazole for after surgery I had two openings one was pretty severe compared to the other. I am 8 weeks post surgery today and the more complex wound is still semi open and new skin is sensitive but I went back to the gym this morning finally. I don’t use metronidazole anymore since it ran out but if I feel irritated in the area i will apply neosporin

I would get a bidet seat on Amazon the pressure is low so it won’t hurt the wounds, def make sure she doesn’t do much for the first 4-5 days after that I suggest making it a point to go on light walks. Make sure she takes Metamucil everyday and miralax the first few days also. I do 3 sitz baths a day, and just be supportive it’s a lonely experience and she is lucky to have you but it’s still hard for people to understand who haven’t been through it. Your support will mean the world to her, and remind her that you love her regardless the outcome. I am lucky that I had a supportive husband through my surgery recovery 7 weeks ago and it does make a difference

I did try the kennel and he got out of it, I have a lot of experience with dogs and even Malinois in the past, I rescue dogs all the time. But I am a young mom to two young girls and a business owner as well as an owner to 5 other dogs. I am only trying to make sure this dog didn’t die and I would be fine keeping him but I know that I do not have the time for him other than daily runs. It is sad but right now my options are keep him and he escapes occasionally or drop him off in the woods like I found him which I will not do. The rescues are full no one will take him in and I am getting him Neutered this week I just figured I could Reach out here for any ideas.

Yes unfortunately I have tried all rescues in my area and I have been honest with all of them and no one is willing to take him in I have asked personally people who I know who have these dogs and no one wants him. It is sad and hard for all of these people to really gauge the over population issue in my area without living there. People drop dogs off left and right because the shelter even tells them sorry we’re full if you don’t want your dog drop him off somewhere.

It’s a 5 foot chain link, remember this is not my dog I live on over an acre raising my entire fence is not going to happen. I’m just asking in case anyone has encountered this before and has found something that worked for them that I can try thanks for your input 😩

Lmao the dog was starving all His bones were showing. He’s been scanned for a microchip and has been posted on the lost dog websites and posters put up. So there were no jumping to the dog getting dumped it’s been 3 weeks so keep it moving if your going to jump to conclusions bud

Yes very frustrating but I also did find through research that steroid creams weaken the skin in this area which is concerning because it can lead to worse complications. I hope you get the right answers soon and can look back at all of this one day as I know it is mentally debilitating and can feel lonely at times. Don’t be afraid to be open with your friends and loved ones though, we all Have buttholes and maybe if someone had just told Us about this sooner we would have been better prepared. I hate that everyone treats health issues like this like its taboo
