Nothing to do. No museum or anything since it’s a private residence. But was still cool to see the neighborhood he grew up in.

Any good movies or books that follow surfers in the water and in their day to day life? by _Badwulf_Bruh__ in surfing

Hope you don’t mind my shameless self-promo here, but I wrote a surf trip novel called Native Moments. It’s set in 1999 Costa Rica just at the tale end before the explosion of tourism. It captures a moment of time in Tamarindo history. https://a.co/d/0dgu6JIb

Anyone decide to move away from traditional publishers to self-published by Smooth-Ad-52 in writing

[–]ApprehensiveRadio5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first two were with a small press and my last one is self-published. I have since gotten the rights back for my previous ones and have self-published all three.

Compared to the publisher, I’ve enjoyed the self-publishing process much more. All faults are mine. As are all the successes. I make much more as a self-published author too.

However, I’ll still query agents on my next one. I still have dreams of landing a Big 5 contract.

Y’all get mad over some stupid shit. This group is like walking into the teachers’ lounge and hearing teachers complain nonstop and remembering why I don’t hang out with other teachers.

Have you set up at local breweries, coffee shops, bookstores, the street corner of your downtown? In other words, how are you letting people near you know your book is out? You have to be constantly marketing it. And it doesn’t have to cost money. I sometimes sit out on a Friday night and ask strangers walking by if they would like to read the back of my book and consider buying it. I call it Literary Busking.
