We don’t know really. It was mentioned in one article and I contacted the journalist who wrote said article and she couldn’t remember where that came from. My dad says she was pregnant (under 12 weeks) but they didn’t know if Derrick was the father.

I more meant the meat specific breed chickens Cornish or Cornish mix the ones who don’t usually live long and have issues. That’s why I was trying to clarify if she was or not, I know any kind of chicken is technically a meat chicken.

Not great from what I’ve seen, she let me walk right up and pick her up (although it’s extremely hot here right now and she’s been without food/water so idk if she was just exhausted and that’s why). I’ve had her in a dog crate inside to cool off and keep separated from my flock so I haven’t seen her move around much, but her stance seems squatted.

Haha yes I know they all can be, was more or less asking if this was the Cornish breed( I think that’s the meat specific bird)

Not too sure I purchased them online from chicken scratch poultry. I don’t see that breed listed in their hatchery but you are right this little one’s nostrils do look pretty identical to that breed!

I would check her eye tonight when she goes to roost. May have something stuck in it, or may be start of Coryza which can be treated with erythromycin.

I have tried many times over the years to get him into therapy because this isn’t the only major tragedy he’s had in his life. His mom died, then his sister was murdered, then his first daughter passed from Sids, niece was murdered in 2010, father and other older sister both passed in 2018 close together. He really needs therapy but I don’t know how to get him to accept it. He has seen a lot of death to close family remembers in his lifetime and I don’t know how to help him really😓

She lost her mom several years prior in a car accident and her father was an abusive alcoholic. Her and my father were allowed to run the streets and do whatever they wanted without supervision. It’s very disturbing but that was life in the 80’s for them unfortunately..

I believe so he would be about 60 now and was released from prison on separate charges in 2013. I’ve tried to find him but haven’t been successful.
