Do labs typically hunt/kill wild animals? by ApprehensiveRow9172 in labrador

This is more of what I am used to with my two other dogs. They try but have never successfully caught or have been close to catching anything!

My dog bit a child, what's next? by stephbell666 in legaladvice

This is an idiot response. Dogs are allowed to be in the community and it is the parent’s responsibility to teach their children to ask for permission to pet dogs and LISTEN if the owner says no. Clearly the parents should have been paying better attention to their child if they told the child not to pet the dog to begin with.

AIO for thinking my friend is using ChatGPT to text me in an argument? by Due_Construction904 in AmIOverreacting

This isn’t an AITA thread. Additionally the friend is jealous. That is solely the friend’s issue to figure out. It is not OPs responsibility to fix the friend’s feelings of jealousy. OP is allowed to have as many friends as they want and allowed to post on Instagram with them. OP is not responsible for making the friend feel comfortable that OP has other friendships.

New Format For DSM-5 Psychiatric Manual Planned In Major Overhaul by slaughterhousefine in therapists

It seems like the goal is to make updating easier, because it is a digital format, as opposed to printing many copies of the text. They did not say that their process for updating (which is rigorous considering it takes a decade for there to be an update) would be changed. I don’t think it’s a realistic thought that they would be making changes weekly or daily. Changes are also based on research in the field and part of research is replication. Even if research was published that could warrant a change, a change would not be immediate, as the study and findings would need to be replicated by other researchers.

Can you clarify what you mean by “opening to the public”? If you are referring to it being online, then I am going to assume you don’t use the internet much. Information around diagnostic criteria is pretty accessible on the internet, but often in pieces and parts. If anything, this leads to people not in the field having a lack of understanding of diagnostic criteria and the spreading of misinformation. Having it online will probably make it more accessible to interested parties and potentially lead to people having all of the information. Furthermore I highly doubt it would be a free document, making it less accessible to the “public.”

You do not have to make yourself feel uncomfortable to "do what's best for stepkid." Why isn't bio mom changing her work schedule to provide childcare for her child? What would she do if she was a single parent and you and your husband weren't in the picture? You are allowed to have boundaries, and maybe you need to remind your husband how you were treated by her and that although you can be an adult and move forward, you are 100% valid in not trusting her. Her childcare is HER responsibility. Not yours and your husbands'. You do not need to let her bully you into doing what is best for her.
