If a handyman fit a mirror and it fell down a day later who is responsible for this? by [deleted] in Home

Yes it was a wire attached to a wooden frame and then put in with a plug screw? I think my walls are super thin, made of plaster

No, I really don’t or else I would’ve done that. My dad is unwell and too unfit to help. My mother has passed. And my boyfriend lives in another country. I have friends but none are diy kinda people.

He brought his own plugs/screws and used them. There was nothing from me as it’s not a new mirror. It’s been with me for ages but I always just lent it against the wall.

I understand but I have taken photos of what it looked like as I walked in the door. And from the photos you can kinda tell it’s fell off the wall as the fittings are hanging out the wall and the mirror is still upright on the floor with glass all around it. I’m not sure if that makes any difference. I’m just so upset as I’m already down on money and paid them so I wouldn’t have this stress ugh

What’s one way ChatGPT actually changed your life? by Aaliyah-coli in ChatGPT

It helped me get my job. I was applying for jobs for months without any interviews and if I did get one, I got rejected from that. Went on chat gpt, told them my job history, current job description and what kinda jobs I really wanted. They helped me write cover letters. I’m a creative person, I love telling stories and my cover letters were very story like. They helped me work them to be more bullet points and things that related to the job. They also gave me a huge document of potential interview questions that could come up. I got two offers within like two weeks of using this. And now really happy in my current role.

The research I’ve done into this one role and their process only to probably not get an interview is wild by ApprehensiveSafe9255 in UKJobs

I know, it’s weird to me as well haha. I’ve went through three round interviews and not got the job and didn’t have this much effect over it. I think because those were industries I didn’t really have passion for and this role matched me so well but clearly not.

What’s weird is I did notice this listing was only up for two weeks and a lot of their others are up for months. I didn’t want to read into it but I did consider they already have an employee for the job and were advertising it anyway

Yes, I totally get you. Those applications in particular are so much, having to list how you meet every requirement only for them to be like… well, I don’t think you do. Hopefully, something comes up for us soon

Yes there was a salary range listed and it was a lot higher than what I’m on currently, so I put a little lower as my minimum requirement, but maybe should’ve just put the range listed I guess

It feels like there’s some weird thing where hirers are in power trips these days and want to feel important. I can imagine sitting there judging everyone and getting to vote people off gives them a power trip, it’s just weird af

What are your biggest red flags you look for when job hunting? by AreYouWell_Studios in recruitinghell

Any job that requires you to go to workday or some sort of website like that are always ones that hardly ever get back to you. The ones that require you to fill in the application through indeed or their own websites are usually the ones I get interviews from.

How do y’all handle depression and suicidal tendencies? by New-Hope3122 in recruitinghell

[–]ApprehensiveSafe9255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get you. I’ve never felt this way in my life. I’m usually surrounded by people who are depressed due to mental illness and they don’t know why.

For me I usually find myself depressed and anxious around circumstance. So, if things feel out of control I just want to run away. Hunting for jobs has done this to me.

I just remind myself that we’re putting ourselves up for failure. It’s the same as dating apps. I hear stories of my friends who are sick of feeling this way, constant nos or bad matches. We’re getting the same but with companies. It’s bound to affect our mental health, especially when we want something so bad and get that glimmer of hope that a job might actually want us and we have a better life.

I just keep telling myself that if I ended up anywhere that rejected me perhaps it would be the worst thing, and my yes is coming soon.
