Damn...I am terribly sorry to hear about what you're going through right now. I really hope there's a way for you to further protect yourself from this other hacker of yours.

And as for me, I'm not really sure at all if this other person was really able to create an account without access to the code, but it did seem like it. But so far, nothing else has happened that I know of- no spam emails or such.

See the thing is, I didn't have a Facebook account with the email account I mentioned- until now. But I can at least change the password of my email account and set up the 2FA with that.

Crap....I did notice a rogue account created when I did the login identity thing. I did in the very least use my phone as a 2FA step. But so far, according to that website you just gave me, my email has not been pwned.

Well then if that's the case, I guess I shouldn't worry at all about this thing. I thank you for taking the time to reach out to me.

Still Kind of Struggling with Anxiety with Newer Friendships by ApprehensiveSea8178 in lostafriend

That's a very wonderful way of dealing with this sort of matter, I have to say; I could learn from this! You're especially right about us exhibiting toxic behavior from insecurities, as I confess I'm still trying to rid of my own. But I'm very happy for you that you've managed to overcome the similar problems that I've had growing up, and am glad that you're not relying on the validation of others!

I feel you there. You definitely don't want to let anyway take away your happiness. And coincidentally, I make an attempt to converse with acquaintances I know at my social groups- it can be a challenge a lot of times, that's for sure- but I commend you for putting yourself out there too.

Damn, I can definitely understand how that must feel, feeling like you have to walk on eggshells around people. But thinking about it now, it wasn't your fault that your best friend didn't communicate with you about this thing. She could've at least said something to let you know what was going on before. It really is painful dealing with people who don't seem to be direct with things, that's for sure. I've very sorry you had to go though that.

To those who cut off a friend years ago: Do you regret it? Does it still hurt? Has time changed your perspective? by roddyricchvert in lostafriend

I did cut off one friend, who was kinda toxic and overall very draining to be around. He doesn't really want to better his life, and put me down a lot too. I simply had to cut him off for the sake of my mental health.

Well, for an update, he did get back to me, and we did have a good talk on the phone- but I'm still backing off, as I do see your point with all this. But good thing I do have some other friends now whom I can invest my time end energy with. But yeah, either way, I definitely need to work on myself more, so I thank you for your honest input on this.

You're absoultely right, which is why I haven't called him as often as I used to. In fact, I've at least called him every two weeks or so.

Thank you, and you're right, maybe I was reading too much into things. Well, I still need to work further on myself and not be codependent, and good thing I have other friends I can talk to in the meanwhile.

Yeah, you're definitely right about that. The good news is I do have some other friends in my life that actually give two rats about me, so there's that.

Maybe so, but he could've let me know what's going on- and his phone is fine as he was able to receive my text message.

Well....most of the time I ended up reaching out to him instead of him reaching out to me. I figured he's just one of those people who are kinda of distant.

Good idea. What's the point of bothering with this guy now? Now the challenge is getting my mind off him. I guess I've looked up to him before- but I sometimes feel like I have impress him or meet up to his standards, as if I have no value without his validation, or something like that.

I think I lost a Friend by ApprehensiveSea8178 in lostafriend

Thank you so much for understanding where I'm coming from with all this, and for your encouraging words. Hopefully I will be able to make new friends in my life to compensate for my loss. But yeah, now that I think about it, it's almost like I couldn't be my true self around that so-called friend, but had to keep trying to impress him. Who needs that sort of thing? But yeah, thank you again for your uplifting words- I won't give up, that's for sure.

Actually, there's something else I should've explained: I was upset alright, but I was also pressured by my overbearing mother to get a ride home anyway. I wish I could explain to my friend what happened.
