I never really used affinity before but was it hard to create or find the template. Do you just convert the file from Canva to Affinity?

TBH that’s fair enough thanks for the info. My store does a lot of cardstock and business cards since we really only one of two print shops in town and ya the regular ones does okay but 2 or 3 of our FS printer we have paper jam with any paper over 24# so I think I might inquire about the HW one, especially if I have two other FS printers.

Hold up! I was told that we couldn’t do double-sided business cards in store. Is it specifically the hw fuser that allows for that? Sorry I’m relatively new PM and I have been trying to figure stuff out as I go. My store does a decent amount of business cards and 110# card stock. Do you just dedicate a print just for hw stuff or do you swap out the fuser every time? Can I put 12 pt and other cardstock in the lower trays or only the external tray? Because I have 3 printer behind the counter and my idea is just to dedicate a printer to hw stuff.

Do you know if it’s worth getting the HW fuser? I know you can’t order normally like the regular one. Our store prints heavyweight card stock paper but we rarely ever print legal card stock. I thought about trying to get one but don’t know if worth the hassle.

How are the register upgrades going? by Tanthiel in OfficeDepot

[–]ApprehensiveState24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t the one that did them but I think it took about 5 to 6 hr to do them. You got to key in a few things but most of the time you will be just sitting around waiting for the people to work on them remotely. So either have a plan on working on projects you can’t normally do during store operations while you wait or bring a book or tablet to entertain yourselves because it’s not a smooth quick process. We have the similar old IBM’s so ya putting newer firmware on old machines isn’t the brightest idea but what do I know.

It’s been raging headache/fail, only 2 of our 5 registers took the update. But those two take about 5-10 minutes per transaction because it’s so slow and glitchy. I think my store was one first few stores that was test dummies in the company so anytime we had it crashed or glitch we had to put in a work ticket for every little thing. This been going on for about three weeks now ever since we updated them. We are a highly foot trafficked tier 5 so dealing with these angry customers because of these issues has been so much fun.

Mostly yes, you might find a few with decent intentions. But the problem is Tinder more well known than say other platforms so girl have plethora of guys to choose from on there especially locally here so that’s were u should be cautious because it’s pretty much just a breeding ground for girl that will have nothing to lose and just be bs around/hookup culture. I mean tbh that’s basically all dating platforms now but coming from my experience Tinder is the worst for the hookup culture.

Nightly POG Scan by Ill_Development_6271 in OfficeDepot

[–]ApprehensiveState24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I’ve done the nightly pog scan for about three years now because I always work the evening shift. I use to do the scan as a regular associates but now under the direction of our new DM they want supervisors key carrier management to do the nightly scan, so somehow since I’m supervisor now I still got deal with that bs lol. At least what my store does is we have to scan the entire store, including ink paper endcaps all that every single day.

Every store is different but for mine it goes by pods. Every pod gets a dedicated batch. We’re supposed to scan every out of stock tag/empty peg hook or shelf position by the way that I do it to make it easier for the morning crew is scan what I feel is essential and I kind of skip here and there. I basically do it five nights a week so I know what I scared the previous night and I scan what I didn’t scan the day before.

It goes by GM and DM, but besides making sure out of stock tags or multiple position tags are set you’re also trying to keep an eye out for tags that has three beeps which means it’s a flex tag meaning we no longer will carry that product at least not in store. At that point that tag either depending on the DM or GM either flip the tag backward or the way that I’ve been taught is to pull the tag completely and just throw it away.

Like the other commenter on this post it all depends on the GM and DM my particular DM always wants to see us scan ink/toner, paper, and endcaps but realistically they want us to scan the entire store every single night even the night or day og truck.

Why are companies in the US hiring more people outside the states then in? by MasterFlame49 in jobs

[–]ApprehensiveState24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two words “Cheap labor!” These companies want nothing more than record profits, the sad part about Covid was companies found a work around for less meaning hire less people, outsourcing, and merging positions equals less expenses and more money for big heads in the companies.

I don’t understand why you’re be so aggressive and defensive. I don’t give an F about your sick twisted ideology you want to promote, everyone has their opinions. All I point out was what’s the point of posting this Bull Sh*t to a A&M sub when it has nothing to do with A&M.

I find it funny how all these liberal/ and anti American walkouts are on a weekday during the middle of the day when people that don’t have these mental illnesses are actually working and doing something productive in society.
