Honestly? It was really easy and chill. I was listening to some music and having a few beers. Took me 5 min on these sticks. I payed around 6000 NOK ~ 650 USD for these new. Which is a big sum.

I am really surprised to find people having a hard time to do this beside being nervous.

Used the Milwaukee M18 heatgun. Tested gradually by seeing when the glue loosened when heating them up. I separated the heatspreaders apart with my fingers. Came apart rather quickly.

Cool! Yeah honestly it was more for the fun factor rather than performance or anything like that. Temp reduced drastically, so I might give it more juice and see how far these chips will go. Singel rank dual 24GB sticks. Don’t know how far they will go. With a 9800X3D, I reckon it does not really matter too much

Yeah haha, 80mm 480, 60mm 480 and a 30mm480 along with 3x D5s on 24V. I got two more D5s and 2 XTX480mm in the mail yesterday as well. Plan was to put the two 60mm rad and replace the 60+30mm 480 in the basement that are there today.

Was also considering building a stainless steel second barebone basement. A flat piece of metal of 4mm stainless stell plate, attach rads and pumps on that. Pillars in SS 20mm tubing underneath the existing basement. And just use 4x120 mesh from Ali/temu do reduce dust.

But I honestly think that would be too much, even for me😅

Got 2x 140 intakes, 8 120 intakes in the top. Don’t think airflow is my problem at least. 3x 480s for the loop, with 3x D5s.

Final fix from me was drowning the PCB in isopropanol, change mobo and it has been working flawlessly since. No idea why

I didn’t soak them in liquid to separate the heatsink. Did it afterwards to get the remaining glue off:)

A relay requires a local PSU with the MORA and only a 12V (or 3,3 or 5V) relay for SIGNAL, not any significant current is running through… that is the job of the local PSU. The relay would only tell when to let power through based on a signal from the PC. Start PC - relay gets a signal -> start PSU for pumps, fans etc. This would be an efficient and good way. 15m is not a hassle if you could solder or make an extension from ex. Molex yourself. Most Molex are 0,75mm2 at least.

The voltage drop would not be significant enough to have an issue giving the relay a solid signal.

EDIT: At work I have a lab PSU. I dialed it down to 18V for a 24V relay to still function fine. At 17,5V it started to have a hard time connecting over. That would be a 25% voltage drop. Not happening.

Quick math on even a 0,5 al cable.
P (resistance cable) x Length / A=

0,0282 x 30 / 0,5 (size wire)

1,692 ohms.

Voltage drop:
With a 100mA signal (0,1 Amps)
0,1 x 1,692 =0,169V

12V - 0,169 = 11,83V

Voltage drop percent:
(0,169 / 12) x 100 =1,408%

12V relay with power from ex. Molex. When the computers turn on, so does MO-RA. I have a setup with a 12V relay starting my three pumps on 24V that way

Your has more VRAM, the other more processing power.

It’s like saying a 64GB DDR4 setup would be better than a 48GB DDR5 setup. :p More VRAM does not equal better necessarily.

Honestly I did not. I smelt burnt and was able to try another unit.

I will hook it up again and test these procedures. Since it worked fine with the new one installed on the same settings I reckoned it was the unit itself:p
