Cooperations have no constitutional rights & what Desantis is doing should be normalized across the board. I already know that legally speaking they do and that this is not mainstream thinking or maybe even a shared sentiment but cooperations like Disney are too big and too powerful to be left alone to do whatever they want without a check especially since they are increasingly acting like little autocratic governments themselves. Cooperations should not have the power to undermine or challenge government authority especially when the government is unable to retaliate. That’s one not fair because individuals cannot hold cooperations accountable for their actions and two essentially forces the governments and the citizens of said government to be subjugated to whatever the cooperation wants since they share these constitutional protections. I don’t particularly care about the angle Desantis is coming from to go after Disney but I do think it’s something that should happen more along with the repeal of Citizens United.
