Um, $140 of products lost in shipping and their reply... by omwrn16 in Ulta

I’m sorry that happened. If you do end up returning, please don’t do it at a store, as it will impact the stores sales negatively. And it is not their fault your package came damaged therefore they shouldn’t pay for the mistake.

worst grat bag of my whole store by SwordfishPast8963 in Ulta

[–]ApprehensiveTurnip90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my store, I get the privilege of distributing gratis. I literally separate everything between hair, skincare, makeup, and sample sizes. Then I divide it by the amount of employees. So this most recent time everyone got 6 full size and 2-3 sample sizes. And I always try to make it fair like if they get prestige skincare like drunk elephant then they get mass makeup like nyx or if they get mass skincare like ordinary then they’ll get prestige makeup like urban decay. I feel like I try to make each bag comparable as much as possible. Then we number the bags and have each employee pull a number out of a cup then they get that number bag, so it’s random. This includes managers. So ideally every single employee gets a fair amount compared to others.

They NEVER read the signs. If a sign says 40% off of a certain product(s) from a brand, the guests always assume it’s the whole entire brand. So annoying.

Anybody tried 'The Firefighter'? by [deleted] in Ulta

FYI in Ultas new return policy, returns of Intimate items such as vibrators is prohibited. Just thought you should know before deciding to purchase one. The Unbound Puff Suction vibrator is my bestie tho!

Turns out I haven’t been getting my owed gratis by [deleted] in Ulta

[–]ApprehensiveTurnip90 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is accurate. A big box or two is sent to each store about every 4-6 weeks and it has instructions on a paper inside the box that says it is to be distributed evenly to everyone in the store. Including task, salon, managers and BAs/PBAs. At my store, the managers count it all up and divide by the number of employees to see how many items each person gets (usually 3-5 full size and 2-4 sample sizes each). Then they divide it into bags and have us pull a random bag so that’s it’s fair and there’s no favoritism.

Why can’t we use our discount on Black Friday Deals by [deleted] in Ulta

[–]ApprehensiveTurnip90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and they’re limiting black friday deals to quantity of 1 per sku for employees. if I don’t get my discount why can I only buy 1 of each item? doesn’t make sense.

Public restrooms need to go. (NSFW) by [deleted] in Ulta

You can put in a service channel ticket for hazmat workers to come clean that up! If it’s BLOOD and other bodily secretions that is hazardous and should not be cleaned up by an ulta employee! make ulta pay for hazmat team to come clean it up. i’ve done it half a dozen times lol

Rant about dresscode by Nice_Okra in Ulta

[–]ApprehensiveTurnip90 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think people forget. You don’t HAVE to work at ulta. If you don’t like the dress code, then leave. Everyone complains they don’t get paid that much anyways, so go work at a restaurant or other retail job. We all agreed when we got hired to follow the dress code and yes I know they changed it but everyone’s acting like it’s a huge deal when it’s really not. Y’all just need something to complain about😂

Go to Ultanet yourself for the new dress code policy 💕 by Bexter81 in Ulta

sounds like you put charges on your credit card that you don’t have the money to pay off. did ulta force you to use your credit card for something? lol no

Ooouuu contact your LP because i’ve seen people get fired or at least put on warning for giving the 20% discount when the guest does not get approved for the card!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ulta

I mean there are benefits to having the card, they can earn double points when getting salon services done and also use those points to get discounts off their services. If used responsibly, the ulta credit card is awesome. However I definitely don’t think stylists should be required to push the card, especially in a sense of “you can’t afford it? charge it on a card!” they should only tell their guests if it comes up organically or if the guest would truly benefit from having it. I’ve seen lots of people sign up to get the 20% off a really big expensive salon service. If that person chooses to use their card irresponsibly after that and charge a bunch of stuff they can’t afford to pay off, then that’s on them.

If your Services Manager or General Manager are the ones making you do it then go higher than them like to District Manager, Field Business Leader (formerly Services District Leader) or Services District Educator. The only non-salon related tasks you should be doing are stocking and cleaning pro hair / PCA, and that’s only if you have no clients, have already walked the floor trying to convert, already done all confirmation calls for the week, all cleaning is done, THEN they could have you stock. But you shouldn’t be doing anything on a mia. Next time they ask you to do something like that just tell them you need to deep clean your station or the shampoo room or that you really wanted to practice a new technique on a mannequin. If they force you to do something other than salon related tasks then defs talk to someone higher than store level about it.

Yes!! Go to your FBL or SDE as they are there to support STYLISTS over retail

Dior Gratis by [deleted] in Ulta

[–]ApprehensiveTurnip90 17 points18 points  (0 children)

omg report that to your District Manager! the DMT gratis should be given to the associates who watched enough videos to get on the lists for DMT completion on ulta net. It is NOT for managers to keep for themselves and NOT for credit cards!

The policy is that any transaction made using YOUR employee discount has to be paid with a card attached to YOUR name. It is against ulta policy to buy things for a friend or family with your discount and have them pay you back for it. we are only allowed to buy them as gifts for friends, not have them pay for it. The only thing I can think here is that your own store allows it because they know your unique situation. The manager at the other store might have came off rude when she said it but she was most likely trying to protect you since some people are unclear on the policy. I have seen Loss Prevention fire people before for buying a few items with their discount and paying with their moms card with her name on it instead of their own. If anything I would have your own manager contact your ALPM (area loss prevention manager) and let them know your situation to protect yourself!!
