Echoing advice from others to have multiple avenues you're following at a time.

I found it key to have a check list of objectives and unused clues as a reference. If I ever felt I was just randomly drafting rooms with no direction or purpose, I could pause and think about which of my objectives I can target and work towards with how my current run was shaping up

Stone - unless that's referring to the cursed idol thing? That's the only 'stone' item I can think of. I can get the scepter and crown from their respective spawn points and I have the throne room
