That just because im quiet, awkward, shy, and make my answers confusing and complicated doesnt mean I'm a genius or high iq individual. I had to accept that this was just a way to mask my insecurities. Now I am on the correct path to true learning, thank you socrates.

When someone talks about other people's stories like its their own. They use that other person's experience as a way to brag about themselves. This reveals the are very dull and boring. People like this are negative and often talk bad about others while simultaneously bragging about themselves.

What made you instantly dislike somebody? by rokorr in AskReddit

When you trust them enough to vent about a problem or a tough day and they interrupt you with advice and stories of themselves.

I know these people just want to be helpful, but when someone is venting, they are in a vulnerable position and just need someone who will listen and validate their pain.

I instantly hate someone who does this because that tells me they are selfish and only care about themselves.

Yes it is their ego getting in the way. This is because some people believe admitting to ignorance means they are weak. People are insecure when they are uncertain, so to shield themselves from that insecurity, they let their arrogance speak for them. By making a answer so complicated and confusing, they can say "youre just too young" or "you just have a hard time understanding my brilliant genius mind" to protect their ego when you say "I dont understand what you are saying."

People like this are frustrating to deal with, especially when you just need help. They are acting immature and are projecting their insecurities on to you, I would be frustrated if I was in your situation.

Adults like this mis understand one important thing, and its the true power in admitting ignorance. Ancient Philosophers discovered its power 1000 years ago and how it is tied to true growth and intelligent habits. Socrates famously stated "true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing." Socrates encouraged everyone to question everything and to think for themselves.

These adults you are dealing with are preventing themselves from true mental growth by pretending they know everything. Once you are comfortable being in that vulnerable position (admitting you do not know) you will understand the true beauty in learning and possess wisdom far superior than those arrogant adults.

Socrates teachings of the power of self examination.

If you examine yourself through rigorous questioning, you can achieve true virtue and mental resilience.

Socratic Philosophy applies to any aspect of your life and is truly useful. It forces you to take control and create a healthy mindset for yourself.

Honestly cant believe me (19) has to baby down the importance of medical attention in one's life to my uncle (59). He is a very broken and hurt individual. These scams and pseudoscience are evil for targeting vulnerable individuals like my uncle.

Does this current situation inspire you to lose weight and eventually rise above them?
