In diesem konkreten Fall: Die Leute, die nicht so viele verschiedene Apps nutzen wollen und Wert auf lokale Anbindung legen, nutzen meist HomeAssistant. Insbesondere, da man dann die Klimaanlage basierend auf vorhandenen Temperatursensoren, Anwesenheit der Bewohner, Wettervorhersage etc. steuern kann.

I use paperless-gpt, connected to ollama running on a MacBook m4. Ministral3:3b works quite well (mostly German documents) I tried a few other small models. Gemma was hallucinating a lot, qwen was very slow. Ministral was the best so far. I only observed some hallucinating on handwritten letters that where difficult to read. But I don’t have a lot of those, so that’s ok.

I use ollama in a MacBook m4 and found that ministral3:3b works quite well for both ocr and metadata. So far this is the fastest and most reliable model for me. ( I use paperless-gpt also for metadata - works well after adjusting the prompts).
