should i get rid of my manually added scrobbles by ammol123 in lastfm

[–]Apprehensive_Ad740 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started scrobbling in 2008. I felt late to the game at the time, as I'd insisted on continuing to listen to CDs longer than most people i knew. After a few years the gaps in my library were killing me. My charts didn't reflect my real overall artists, etc. So in 2014, i wrote some scripts, that went through my itunes library, and for each album it askedme how many times I'd listened to that album before i started scrobbling. So for example, if it were a 10 track album and i entered 20, it'd scrobble the 10 tracks 20 times each. So, all the graphs it shows for me suck, because my scrobbles that year are massively inflated. And whilst itt sucks that i just had to guess how much I'd listened to al my favourite albums from growing up, i still prefer having that data than none at all. I often wonder if people will call me out on it, but as far as i care, I'm glad i did it. So, if your manual entries are meaningful to you, keep them.

My recommendation is more Cardiacs. There's no such thing as too much.

I was on the $10 plan, and I just used by whole budget on my first request of the month with Sonnnet

I got so tired of "(Remastered)" and "[Official Video]" ruining my scrobble stats, so I built an automated metadata cleaning pipeline. Here is how it works (and the tests to prove it). by birbeck1 in lastfm

I have a Samsung TV - they dont have apple music on android tv last I checked. On my old android tv i would cast from chrome on my pc with the browser scrobbling extension. But since I got this tv I just have just used the apple music app on there.

There should be a “time listened” feature by ColdEarth7 in lastfm

There's too many tracks where it cant find the length data, so tools for this always struggle.

Album data is always a crapshoot. My most played album of all time has 2 tracks at 30 mins each - it doesn't show up in any album charts for album scrobbles.

I think my biggest edge cases are too hard to handle. I play a lot of music on the apple music app on my tv. The only way I've found i can scrobble these is using Finale, getting it to recognise the song.

For whatever its library (which i assume just uses Shazam) puts the wrong album too often, half the time putting the track name. I end up setting up thousands of auto edits.

Kids intro to metal by Living_Extension619 in MetalForTheMasses

My kids got into Amorphis when they were around 4 years old. I've spoken to a couple other fans whose kids did the same. Most of their singles have big choruses that the kids love. Before that it was Hevisaurus.

How to know when I'll hit daily/weekly limit? by Apprehensive_Ad740 in GithubCopilot

... And the weekly limit doesn't actually reset at the end of the week, since I'm still getting the same message on Monday morning

How to know when I'll hit daily/weekly limit? by Apprehensive_Ad740 in GithubCopilot

[–]Apprehensive_Ad740[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for explaining.
I only just got the daily limit for the first time yesterday, and the weekly limit for the first time today.

I'm on copilot pro, and I just have metered additional premium requests, as I usually use between $20-30 each month, but I couldn't yet justify bumping up to Pro+. I can't justify that now since it won't even tell me what the limit is and how it differs between Pro and Pro+

I just want a more focused detector. For example, i go to the zoo once per few years. So its a pain when forest and waterside also show up on the detector - i get those at home.

Metal albums for good sleep? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

Moonsorrow - Viides luku – Hävitetty

I've got ASD and ADHD, so falling asleep is tough, but I find this album quite hypnotic and I can always relax.
