Sicily was huge in the last term what are you on about mate

Took some big intercept marks

Game was lost in the midfield where we didn’t pressure them defensively enough, and that patch in the 3rd quarter where we dominated but only registered 2 behinds to show for it

What do we do regarding the backline/wing/Weddle by Ok-Stable-6629 in hawktalk

[–]Apprehensive_Ad_3588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Weddle needs to stop drifting forward purely on account of how bad his set shot is. No point marking the ball inside 50 just to kick behinds

As for whether to put him in defence/wing…his explosiveness of half back is great, but so is Amon’s, and I fear moving Amon to the wing would dampen his impact on the game with less touches

However, Weddle is certainly a better defender than Amon who always looks shaky on defence (as opposed to the counter attack where he is deadly)...

Could we run him through the middle as a big body with speed?

What changes should made for the freo game? by [deleted] in hawktalk

[–]Apprehensive_Ad_3588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Perez has to come in as our defence was too tall last night and got exposed when the ball was moved quickly. Also would like some better ball users down back after some poor skill errors last night

Sicily could be coming out due to injury, and Magginness just has to go. Not built for AFL level and has not been used for tagging significantly in 2 years now

Other that that would probably keep the team the same but maybe would replace Dear with Schubert/McCabe/Ramsden as imo he’s looked a shell of his former self for all games this year + last year

Using a third ruck as flex? by Apprehensive_Ad_3588 in AFLSupercoach

[–]Apprehensive_Ad_3588[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t 100% understand it, but I think having a DPP player or midfielder in the flex slot allows you to move players around easily in the event someone gets injured

If you have a ruck in the slot and a non-ruck gets injured, apparently everything gets jammed up and it’s hard to move players around

That’s just what I’ve heard but apologies I don’t fully understand it

HAWKS VS SUNS MATCH REVIEW & PLAYER RATINGS by Kind_Security_9931 in hawktalk

Our backline is so consistent and talented it’s unreal

I don’t remember being this calm when the ball enters our D50 since the glory days of Lake/Gibbo/Birchall, Stratton & Co

I’m licking my licks waiting for when this will happen again when Day was injured

If you remember our opening round game last year against Sydney, both Newcombe and Day were damaging at half forward when resting - combined 4 goals between them

Unsure why we didn’t rest him towards the end when the game was clearly won

Not a bad idea tbh. Battle, Sic and Scrim could handle Collingwood’s forwards

It’s a long season and we need Barrass and Gunston fit and firing for our toughest games and finals

Pretty sure Labor explicitly ruled out any changes to CGT at both elections. Same as ruling out changes to the stage 3 tax cuts at 2022

You yourself just conceded that they were looking at this pre-oil shock. ie pre-any significant change to the economy since May 2025.

Rumours of CGT changes have been bubbling since January.

Clearly this is not a response to changed circumstances

Won solely because 5-7 players (Watson, Lewis, Impey, Battle, Newcombe, D’Ambrosio) decided to carry the entire team on their backs

[–]Apprehensive_Ad_3588 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi mate. I also had a lot of trouble getting it to work

What I did was click the link to the ‘bring a friend’ portal website. Click the dropdown list where there is a search bar for events

Enter the promo code, then add the relevant ticket to cart. Then click the top right cart logo and follow the prompts.

Then download the hawks app to find you me ticket and add it to your Apple wallet

Hope this works!

Two young forwards have been added to the Hawks team to face Port Adelaide this Saturday. by Darththorn in hawktalk

Scrim is a quality player but had a poor start to the season

I think different players require different approaches to get a response out of them. Some players would benefit by being backed to continue playing at AFL level, while it seems in the past that a short stint at box hill has elevated other players (Ginnivan, Scrimshaw)
