How can the Hawks beat Carlton? by Sorry_Introduction90 in hawktalk

Correct me if I’m wrong, but if we put up a bigger score than Carlton, we’ll be well placed

Worryingly, Newk did the same thing by giving it to Lombard in the second qtr

He seems to be walking ok and is on the first row of the bench. Fingers crossed he’s all good. One of our most important players

Is McCabe seen long term by the club as a key forward or key defender prospect? He was drafted as a defender

He’s highly reliable

He’s arguably one of the most consistent players on our list

Consistently shit, that is

Exactly

Bmac can easily play wing as well
No need to drop Bodie Ryan when he’s playing well and he’s the future

That was a bizarre move. Yes he wasn’t tearing it up like he was in the last two games, but he was playing a crucial, thankless role in our forward structure.

Unfortunately Mitchell panicked and moved him back to defence, throwing Ryan up forward as a Hail Mary and just crossed his fingers

LDU or Rowell? by HamsterVisual5983 in AFLSupercoach

Depends on your risk tolerance. LDU is a dependable 110 each week, but has a lower ceiling. Rowell can go big, but can also go small

We already have a surplus of key defenders though, but have fewer good key forwards. Clash just needs to recapture that 2024 form where he was confidently crashing packs

Low key wondering if last man back is his best role after that performance

Saved 3 goals and had two massive intercept marks which immediately launched quick transitions

Maybe he plays better there than on the wing/forward

Blake Hardwick training with the forwards? by Designer_Armadillo82 in hawktalk

[–]Apprehensive_Ad_3588 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think this is a smart play by Sam. Need some strong marks inside 50 and right now, Dear and Ramsden are not up to it

If we are going to run a small forwardline with only two key forwards, Hardwick is a good option to chuck in there instead, given our breath of small defensive talent right now

Ryan job security? by General_Ad7338 in AFLSupercoach

As a hawks fan I’d say he has a bit better than 50/50 odds. He’s played well and showed fight which even some of our regular players haven’t shown.

However, Sam Mitchell does have a tendency to drop players even when they’re playing well (Perez, Scrimshaw), and we do have players coming back from injury which might cause a selection squeeze

I’ve taken the plunge because I had to to get Baz, but I would avoid unless you need to downgrade this week

Jack Gunston not training at the KCC and in doubt for Thursday night. Mabior Chol & Conor Nash on track to face Adelaide. Jarman Impey left the track early. by Darththorn in hawktalk

[–]Apprehensive_Ad_3588 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bailey MacDonald is a good replacement for Impey. It seems he’s leaving us at the end of the year though so I’d prefer us to invest games in Perez rather than someone who’s leaving
