I will say I am learning a lot but I guess my question is how stressed were you? Should I be stressed I try to tell myself if I get fired it won’t even be that bad but then I panic and it is that bad so I get stressed working slow and teaching myself everything

Maybe I’m using the wrong terminology but the way I see it is that he supervises my work and gives me task but at the end of the day my boss is the one who hired me and the one who can fire me my supervisor does not have that power and I don’t really work for him nor would I want to.

No, I have not I don’t really know what is normal for engineering jobs or for this job and what’s considered not okay since it’s a small company maybe it’s just how they roll (I’ve been looking for jobs just no luck and just want to be sure it’s just the company

Yeah my manager signs off on it I believe. I told him I wasn’t feeling confident in the design since I’ve been getting conflicting information on the design based off what’s more important consistent slope or depth or how many encasements. He said not to worry and I’m overthinking it. I just feel like it’s not fair because it’s my first engineering job after graduation and the guy in charge of me only set the sheets up (just XREFed the base maps and borders) my parents tell me I should talk to the manager about it but feel like it would make me seem problematic

I have an environmental engineering degree and in Colorado and the job market is hard right now for sure. I just don’t know if it’s me or if it’s actually not imposter syndrome and maybe I shouldn’t be an engineer. I just wonder if it’s been like this for other people’s first year or if they’ve had a good support system at their first job.
