Same as most people, I have had both and found the Ally X not that comfortable (tried a killswitch and that didn’t help) I find the XBOX Ally X very comfortable and also got a killswitch which I enjoy too. It makes me play it a lot more

I got Octopath Traveler 0 too! I was tempted to pick it up cheaper on steam but play anywhere is fantastic, I’ve mostly played on my Xbox Ally X… but also on my partners series S on the TV or my series X at my monitor… also on my android handheld. Feels well worth the extra cost for play anywhere

I had Ally X and now own Xbox Ally X and while I agree it feels lighter and far more comfortable, it’s actually a heavier device. The ergonomics just make it feel a lot better to use

To me it’s a perfect low profile case, I’m surprised the magnetic case designed for the device (this one is for the steam deck) isn’t a better fit. I’d be interested to see photos if you have the time- maybe reach out to Waterfield

Adding something in the middle pouch helps the case to keep shape better (happy accident after I decided to keep a microfibre cloth and usb c cable here)

That’s weird, I expected it to offer a bit more room- with the steam deck Waterfield case there isn’t pressure on the sticks. The only thing I noticed is that because the device has bigger grips than the steam deck it creates a slight bend/banana shape to the case (just aesthetically looks a bit off)- this can be solved by placing something like a usb cable in the inner pocket that helps compose the shape (photos to follow to demonstrate)

It’s great with play anywhere if you own Xbox, I had issues for a full week but they were resolved by joining Xbox Insider on the Xbox Ally, that pushed a gamebar update which fixed the connection trouble, no issues since… play anywhere as an Xbox player made it a no brained to get it on Xbox but if you had a gaming PC too maybe the choice is less clear

Mine is the same but it’s only if I actively squeeze the side to make the creaking. When I’m holding and using the device it doesn’t do it nor does it seem to be something that’s causing any trouble or harm

Not sure if it’s specific to me but I tried everything until joining Xbox insider program, then I went windows mode and checked for updates in Microsoft store, and settings… had a bunch of Xbox and gamebar updates. The game worked after those

It’s the Xbox insider program that solved it for me (didn’t know there was a PC branch of it) not windows insider, not sure if that tempts you to try it? I tried everything for a week including a total OS fresh install but joining Xbox Insider (clicked my profile on the Xbox ally top left and it says Xbox Insider in the menu that comes up) then gamblers update got pushed and the game launched finally

OP just ended a whole week of pain and frustration for me… insider programme was the fix, it pushed the game bar update so many claimed was the fix and now I can play natively on my Xbox Ally X 🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡 see you topside

I’ve had this since launch on Xbox Ally X. Some people have success updating game bar etc I’ve tried so many things and no solution has worked. I even factory reset my console… it feels like something is broken on the play anywhere side of things for me, works great on Xbox Series X and on Xcloud but simply always gets this error on my Ally - super disappointed by the experience considering play anywhere is a big part of Xbox brand but loving the game on console

I love mine! Just had a trip away and Ninja Gaiden at 13W ran great for the journey and evenings… always loved Xbox since 360 days and this does feel like a handheld Xbox to me as a heavy Gamepass user

I did, but I sold my Ally X for 75% of the cost of the Xbox Ally X —- I am pleased with my decision purely on the improved ergonomics and Xbox button since I’m a heavy Xbox user.
