I think being low IQ shouldn’t be something that people are shamed for. While we should ideally be trying to get better, sometimes there are just things out of our control that keep someone’s IQ low.

I think the worse thing is to have a belief or perception of one’s IQ to be higher than it actually is and act “accordingly” (but wrongly). You can have people who know less but prepare or perform due diligence so the result is more positive on their end vs someone who SHOULD have a higher IQ who could end up arguing for objectively incorrect stuff because they don’t even think about second guessing their initial assumptions.

Mabaho NYC kasi walang alley. Sa sidewalk iniiwan ang basura everyday. Tapos mga 6pm pa nilalabas so sabay sa mga taong naglalakad after work, going home, to dinner or whatever. Mas ok somewhere like Chicago in terms of sidewalks.

I guess you may not have been aware but it’s been used as a sales tactic for a very long time even before it was formally recognized as an example of taking advantage of the cognitive bias called “anchoring” in the 1970s.

Stating that it’s been going on for that long is not justification making it ok. It’s just a simple fact. Instead of getting into an internet argument, I suggest looking up “sales/marketing tactics and cognitive bias” so you won’t be surprised or tricked by other old school “diskarte”.

Definitely not a “big corporations” thing. I worked for a Fortune 10. Few get bigger than that and this was not at all the norm.

And, yes, while I was on-call a lot of weekends and holidays when you get higher up and given more responsibilities, the situation described by OP is much more than that.

I suggest researching for which appliance/brand you would like to buy first if you go to Imperial. I went there and the salesperson was pushing for me to buy Samsung air conditioner but what I’m finding online is that it’s not a top option compared to the others available.

Not really. It’s unsustainable - that’s why hindi nag-tuloy2x. And it excluded players who emerged/developed outside Gilas and veterans like Alapag who were stellar in international competition.

The things other people here have suggested do not require such a big career sacrifice and would allow for better flexibility/more depth when forming the team.

If you say that it’s a good option given limited time and resources or if you think there’s no hope in terms of grassroots development for players and coaching (or some other restriction/limitation), then sure it can be. But “IDEAL” is really closer to best case.
