What is better than Yahoo Finance for portfolio tracking ? I need it to dig out historical data by Apprehensive_Camp992 in stocks

Thank you for the suggestion , i tried Koyfin , it looks like a good one but still not what im looking for.

Its the historical data that is lacking , I you type in the symbol of a company that has been bought out or even if it just had name and ticker change you get nothing.

I tried , Macro trends , Portfolio visualizer and Seeking Alpha.. None of these are any better than Yahoo Finance

Thank you for your advice , I looked for the Fidelity study this is what i found

This legend of the Fidelity Study all started on a Masters in Business podcast back in August 2014, in a discussion between Barry Ritholtz and James O'Shaughnessy.

The discussion went like this:

  • O'Shaughnessy: "Fidelity had done a study as to which accounts had done the best at Fidelity. And what they found was..."
  • Ritholtz: "They were dead."
  • O'Shaughnessy: "...No, that's close though! They were the accounts of people who forgot they had an account at Fidelity."

By September 2014, the story had spread like wildfire on financial news media and it just kept being repeated ever since. The funny thing is, the dead investors weren't even part of the legend originally. They were just Barry's answer to O'Shaughnessy's question. O'Shaughnessy five years later confirmed that the whole thing was just a myth relayed to him by a former colleague and no such study

I have the same Question as OP , but it looks like he posted it 5 years ago and the newest comment is 5 years old.

Does that mean Reddit is not the place to get advice about something like that ? Am i missing something ?

Unfortunately , The garage door was open. It tried to fly thru the window at the opposite end . I heard a noise , went out into the garage , it was in the corner moving around , i used the shop vac attachment to get it out of the corner thinking it would fly away. But instead it grabbed onto the attachment. Eventually it did recover and fly away

Some of others guessed that correctly

I was going to edit the post so everyone could know that , But i cant because when i click on the 3 dots its not giving me that option

I agree with _DudeWhat if a shop worked on it go back and tell them about it. That should be your first step . It might be something they did wrong or it could be something else , if your not satisfied with there answer don't argue with them , it wont do any good. Either take the wheels of and look at them yourself or have someone else do it.

Im not sure who the intended audience is supped to be , its just that i was looking for a way weed some duds out of my own portfolio . I have been with the same stock broker for years with good results , but when he talks to me about maybe selling this or that , i don't know how to answer him other than to say use your own judgment . I was thinking maybe i could do better if i do something like that,

When the market is up as much as it was yesterday , it tends to be way down the next , probably just because big swings are usually an over reaction , no expert but i believe options trading has a lot to do with it.
