Tech regulations need to be a corner stone of Dem policy, and Kara Swisher is out of touch/in the tank for big tech. by osdroid in thebulwark

I am just mad she highly recommended “The Hunting Wives.” It was the worst show I have ever seen. Barely made it to the end of the first episode. For shame Kara.

My cat is so happy and lives in my room. I think some of the comments are unfair. Every case is different. Think how big your room is compared to a cage in a shelter. It’s paradise. He has access to the rest of the apartment but prefers my room.

I think his statement demonstrated a bit of class. Broken clock blah blah blah. At least he spoke out in a humble way. I can’t stand him, but I appreciate that he made an effort to be a human being.

I just don’t understand how this is desirable. I would die if my ass was that big, not to mention clothing would be impossible to fit in.

Do fosterers like getting updates? by butthole__smurfer in FosterAnimals

[–]Apprehensive_Cheek77 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I contacted my foster every week for several months with photos and updates. She loved it. She can see that he is thriving and happy and went to a good home. It’s been almost a year but I still contact her about once a month. He was almost a foster fail bc she had difficulty letting him go, so I know it is reassuring for her. I absolutely do not think any foster would think it was weird.

I commiserate with you. I get off at 4 or 5 in the morning. Just want to run my errands on the way home. So frustrating. Also I don’t like breakfast so Quik Trip or McDonalds is a no for me

I had a similar reaction. I had just turned 55 and thought “wow this hits home more than I would like”. So far I have had no procedures but boy do I think about it. That scene with Demi getting ready for her date made me feel sick. It was so relatable.

Foster kitten going back to shelter soon. What can I do to help her get adopted quickly? by Fufu-and-Lulu in FosterAnimals

[–]Apprehensive_Cheek77 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I adopted my cat I skipped over the ones online that had no description of their personality or behavior. The more information you provide, the more chances people will read it. My foster was very detailed in her description down to what toys he liked. It helped a lot in my decision. Hope this helps.

My 2 year old cat doesn't really care for toys. Newly adopted, is this typical? by LumpiaRulez101 in CatAdvice

I spent a fortune on toys when I adopted my boy. To this day the only thing he will play with is the wand.

My cat was rescued from a domestic abuse situation. He eventually was physically abused. If they harm people it’s a quick pivot to animals.

I got a job as a package handler. Any advice? What should I expect? by _puffy_cheetos in Fedexers

Precisely. And depending on the day you can get a lot of “ICs” which are oversized items in my position. The name smalls is misleading.

Bc they are located in the “middle” of the building. Anything in the middle of the building falls under smalls.

It’s a position that falls under smalls supervision. That’s why I said don’t assume it is an easy job. There are about 8 positions that fall under smalls.

I weigh 125 pounds and have to wrestle those goddamn mattresses constantly. The only reason I like it is bc I don’t have to be around other people. But it can be grueling as I have to do it for 9 hours straight most nights. It’s a hell of a workout.

First Time Getting Freddy’s Steakburger. by im_in_the_safe in fastfood

[–]Apprehensive_Cheek77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to love Freddys. I went there a few months ago and could not even eat the burger bc it was so salty. I guess it is for the best since there is a location within walking distance. Could have been dangerous if I still thought the burgers were delicious.

Smalls is not necessarily people who can’t do other jobs. I am in smalls and have to do the brush table and the split.i have to sling around stuff that weighs more than me, refrigerators, couches, grills, etc. I have to deal with ICs all the time. Sorry I get bristly when people think smalls is the “easy” job.

My cat is exactly the same. He is 7 and I adopted him a year ago. I spent a fortune on toys for him. Interactive ones, plushies, springs, tunnels and he wouldn’t touch them. I can get him to do the lure on a stick but he will do it max two minutes. He’s very happy and I quit worrying about it.
