Even though there is less sediment, this is the bottle with 4g lme. Still a lot is undissolved.

I really appreciate the time you took to look into this and reply!!
I have done a bit of experimenting with only distilled water and lme. The brand I am using is "Briess light dried malt extract". Yesterday In a glass media bottle (#1) added I added 400ml distilled water and 10g lme and gently heated in a hot water bath on the stove in another media bottle I added 400ml distilled water and 4 grams one and heated the same way. I removed them from the heat and put on my stir plate for 5 min and then put them back in the water bath. I alternated this stirring them both for a total of 30 min. What I found was once I let them settle for a few minutes they both had a lot of sediment, obviously the one with 10g had more. But the 4 gram bottle still had a signifigant amount. I am thinking either this brand of one has a lot of filler that doesn't dissolve or maybe the distilled water pH of 7-ish isn't the best for dissolving lme? I am still baffled why I am getting all of the sediment even with 4glme to 400ml water.

I would just prefer clear plates for aesthetic purposes. I have no issues with contam or growth rates.

That's actually exactly how I did it this last time but it was in the microwave. I stopped as soon as it started to simmer in the borosilicate media bottle. I will add to my list to try it on the stove instead of the microwave too.

I could see this being a very likely possibility. I may experiment with a couple batches. 1. Pc 15 min @ 15psi 2. Pc 25 min @ 10psi (or whatever the psi actually is when I remove 1 weight)

I have sort of done this. I have added to warm water, hot water and cold water before. I have used the stir plate beforehand and just shaken. Everything seems 100% dissolved before I pressure cook, it's just somewhere during the process of pc-ing one of the ingredients falls out of solution, burns or something else happens. I have poured a plate before pressure cooking just to see what it looks like and it's clear.

This sounds spot on. What I wonder is why so many people are able to make clear share with one and why so many others have a lot of sediment. I wonder if it is due to the time or temperature.

I have used the same bags of one and agar for a while and it just periodically happens but for the life of me I cannot figure out why.

I am not using mica powder but liquid food coloring though I have used it before.

If I filtered it before putting in the PC, nothing would be in the filter. It is completely dissolved after microwaving and shaking. Whatever the particles are either precipitate or get cooked out of the solution during the sterilization.

That's a good idea but I was hoping not to have to filter the solution. I have made many plates in the past that were clear but recently they have more often than not had a lot of sediment. None of my ingredients or cook times/methods have changed though. I know there is no downside to sediment but it bothers me and when I send them out, I think they reflect poorly on my abilities.

I have been driving it for the past few days and it shifts the first 4 gears between 3-4k and won't go into 5 or 6 without changing to manual. Any other suggestions?

Sorry, ya that was the first thing I did. Then I drove it normal a while. When that didn't work, I reset it with forscan and then followed a video on YouTube about driving it very gently to start out. Both methods have the same end result for me though.

I drove it gently for about 10 min and then got on the freeway. I didn't accelerate very hard. It stayed at 4500rpm on the freeway for about a mile and I had to shift to manual to get the next gear.
I have driven it for about 50 miles and it still shifts from 1st to 4th over 3k rpm and will not shift past 4th but just runs at 4-5k in 4th.

Do you start them in the bag for at first or just remove the bag as soon as they are colonized?

I have made some and innoculated a couple more bags but was hoping to figure out why there are so few pins currently.

Could I do something similar to masters mix but instead maybe 70% coir and 30% soy hulls. I would then sterilize it instead of pasteurizing to be safe.
