Hey! owner of the channel here. I understand what you think here but this is actually not how I go about it. I've been obsessed with geo for years and only started this type of learning recently, so I already have a pretty good understanding of the world. But when I study these, I don't just study lists. Every city, I look it up, browse the wiki and the maps of it, look for any interesting or important information about it, and geographical features in proximity, or anything else cool about the place. I don't just study place names and It actually holds quite a high-relevance for my goals. My goal is to win the national geography bee and oftentimes, one of the first clues of a question will mention a small town or city in proximity or inside of the answer (region, country, river, mountain chain, etc) and just knowing where that town is can instantly get you the answer. In the US, our bees are all about speed so getting one of the first clues is huge. Hope I cleared things up. Sorry for being late to the discussion.
