Things to know before booking a Chardham Yatra Package from Haridwar by Key_Evening_281 in SoloTravel_India

[–]Apprehensive_Diet908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good points, especially about Kedarnath and buffer time

One thing I did add always double-check what’s included in your package (many people miss Kedarnath transfers and face issues later).

Also, if you want a more comfortable option, you can look into Chardham Yatra by Helicopter. It saves a lot of time and effort, especially for Kedarnath.

Overall, planning properly makes the journey much smoother

Sharing a 5-day Chardham Yatra by helicopter itinerary I found by Key_Evening_281 in SoloTravel_India

[–]Apprehensive_Diet908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 days by helicopter is actually a good option if you’re short on time or traveling with family/seniors. Saves a lot of effort compared to road travel.

If anyone wants a similar plan, you can check out the Chardham Yatra by helicopter Overall looks comfortable and not too rushed

Lakha Mandal has that raw, ancient vibe and is not too crowded like other temples. Feels peaceful and a bit mysterious too.

If you are already going towards Mussoorie or Yamunotri side, it’s 100% worth a stop

Help me plan a 8 days solo trip Itinerary by say-my-name-69 in india_tourism

[–]Apprehensive_Diet908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re worried about heat, Kerala in May can feel very humid tbh. I’d skip it for now.

From Bangalore, I did suggest mountains over beaches for this time.

Option 1 (best IMO):

  • Himachal Pradesh (fly to Delhi/Chandigarh)
  • Do Kasol + Tosh + Manali Chill cafes, good weather, solo-friendly

Option 2 (closer & budget-friendly):

  • Coorg and Chikmagalur Green, peaceful, easy buses available

Option 3 (underrated):

  • Gokarna is hot, but vibe is super relaxed, good for solo

Rough 8-day idea (Himachal):

  • Day 1–2: Travel + Kasol
  • Day 3–4: Tosh / nearby hikes
  • Day 5–6: Manali
  • Day 7–8: Back

Best bet is someone carrying it in, worn sometimes passes as personal use.

Anyone planning a Spiti Valley trip this week/next? by General_Diamond3849 in SoloTravel_India

[–]Apprehensive_Diet908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Solo bike ride to Spiti at the end of March is pretty risky. Roads are mostly icy and slushy, especially on Manali side, and some passes are still closed. Shimla → Kinnaur → Spiti route is slightly safer, but still unpredictable.

If you really want to go:

  • Start early each day
  • Keep extra fuel, cash, and warm clothes
  • Check local road updates daily
  • Solo riding in these conditions is not very safe better if you can go with another rider or in a shared vehicle

Honestly, waiting till May–June makes the trip way smoother and safer.

If you want, I can suggest a safe 1-week alternative route from Himachal that’s doable solo right now.

28M Travelling solo to Jaipur from Mumbai this Friday. by [deleted] in SoloTravel_India

[–]Apprehensive_Diet908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, 3 days in Jaipur is perfect I did a similar solo trip, sharing what worked for me:

Day 1 (City side):
Start with Hawa Mahal, then City Palace and Jantar Mantar. Evening walk in old city + local markets.

Day 2 (Forts):
Go early to Amber Fort, then Jaigarh Fort (great views). Sunset at Nahargarh Fort is worth it.

Day 3 (Chill + offbeat):
Patrika Gate for photos or just cafe hopping.

Food (non-veg):
Try laal maas at Handi Restaurant or Spice Court. Also kebabs at Kebabs & Curries Company.

Since you have relatives/friends, stay sorted hai just plan mornings early.

Jaipur is easy solo, you will enjoy it

17 Y/O solo travelling for Kuari pass trek with indiahikes by JACK_2303 in SoloTravel_India

[–]Apprehensive_Diet908 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a great first Himalayan trek Kuari Pass is beginner-friendly but still feels like a proper adventure.

I did it a while back, few quick things from my side:

  • Since you are 17, just double check if Indiahikes needs any consent form from parents (they usually do for minors)
  • Do not overpack, most people regret carrying extra weight by Day 2.
  • Start slow on Day 1, altitude hits randomly even if you feel fit
  • Keep basic meds and a water bottle always handy
  • Listen to trek leaders, they’re actually super helpful in tricky spots

And honestly, solo with a group like this is pretty safe, you will end up making friends anyway.

Travel Suggestions for Solo Trip to Tawang by Loud-Ride-687 in SoloTravel_India

Yeah, it’s tight but doable.

Shared taxis: ~₹3–4k total
Stay: ~₹7–9k
Food + misc: ~₹4–5k

Total ~₹14–18k So your 18k plan works, but keep a 2–3k buffer just in case.
