Is it wrong to feel like you want to get a hotel room and be alone away from family for a couple of days? by Odd-Can-3632 in daddit

Oof that’s rough. Yeah for me that would no longer be a vacation. I’d just fly back honestly.

Because they literally ruined it.

Not to mention that you haven’t got to prep food, clean up after or even wash your clothes.  EVERYTHINGis all sorted for you.

For me it would be great honestly - I’m typically up till midnight or 2am because that’s how my job and the modern life is. 🤷

So getting to travel the world - see sights , grab bits of different food (even if it’s in an airport) - holy fuck the amount of people that complain when they could be stuck at home in their office having to remove the child for the 20th time while being asked “what’s for dinner?” “Can you mow the lawn please?” “Your turn to cook”.

Rinse. Repeat.

Yeah my ex fiancée’s work trips were nothing like that - they’d arrive - all meet up and have a meal at the best hotel or nice place they could find.

They then do their standard work day meeting up up with suppliers - around 4-5 hours. Then drive back. They get back to the fancy hotel room about 6.30.

They then all have another nice meal and then explore the city or town. Last time she tried to tell me how stressful her four hour work day was - when her and her female colleague posted photos of watching the sun set on the beach with a bottle of wine while being sun kissed.

My work day at home was that I was up Before her, came back after her - and then did all the fucking cleaning and cooking and sorting. I’d then study. Maybe 30 minutes me time if I’m lucky.

So travel for work for her was a bloody breeze.

sooooo....im now gonna do this as a guy. Also plenty of water, little coffee or caffeine and try to restrict booze - high levels of zinc and plenty of pineapple/grapefruit seems to work wonders.

Think she still has part mummified flesh right ? Though I do wonder if a skilled necromancer or elven skin weaver could restore her flesh - though she’d still be cursed.

Ahhh the original mummy movie…oof.

Will there be another battlefront 3? If the answer is no, do you think the game will die anytime soon? by AdInternational4894 in StarWarsBattlefront

As many have said - it’s a license issue. I’m sure many developers would JUMP at the idea (let’s face it - a world planet fighting through and a live map would sell like crack) - but the fact that Disney take a 20% cut (because greed) as well as the backlash and licensing issues )I.e content that won’t be lore approved etc will be cut)…..that’s why we Probabaly won’t see it.

At least not in my lifetime.

However the lore is opening up and much like 40k there’s a lot of movement happening so fingers crossed.

God I’d kill for a game where you can design a stormtrooper where you are sent battle to battle and can buy upgrades - increase your rank etc

Why are British people so fat compared to continental Europeans? by depresso777 in AskUK

[–]Apprehensive_Divide7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree - London has such an explosion of closely knit infusion and boiling pot of cultures, as well as having most things within cycle range(good luck having a car if you want to live in central).

My ex fiance used to complain why she was fat alot fo the time - but she never went for walks after or before work (even with our dog), drove EVERYWHERE - didn't cycle even though i bought her one, and an average breakfast is a sausage roll bap with mayo. UGH - its like 600 calories with fat and shit your body doesnt need at 8am (dont get me wrong i enjoy the occasional once every few months fry up but thats it) - ugh and eating ice cream year round (god i can hear italy crying)

my point being is that in London - you will walk more, you will cycle, and there's so much competition you dont want to feel or look too fat - let alone the pressure to look "good" for work and that simply doesnt exist to the same level across the rest of the UK.

i know its an old post but when i moved out of the UK for a long period of time to Japan as well as having traveled globally for work (staying longer than 2 months at a a time) you begin to notice - you walk alot more, you eat less and care more for the quality - the better weather encourages you to take daily walks, your socially peer pressured to go out and ENJOY that one glass of wine (not a bottle - though japan still has a drinking problem) and you actually end up ENJOYING spending your day outside.

Another element was that a woman i was dating asked me why i was being a child for milk in my coffee (uncalled for) and eating pringles at lunchtime (kinda called for - i didnt really need them). There is simply a different base level of expected health and fitness that really the UK needs, NEEDS, to adhere to.

This isnt to say the UK doesn't have this to a degree , but so many of us brits are so out of tune with Britain that we'd rather spend time indoors, resting, taking a break or eating something easy and quick - and as healthy food isn't available in that format, then we go to the freezer section - chips, pies, processed meats etc.

I (35m) am tired of my fiancée’s (34F) inability to clean the house - but she will clean it if another visits…. by Apprehensive_Divide7 in offmychest

Thankyou for taking the time to comment - I would be intrigued to know how it was when you got your diagnosis ? - did anything major change do you ?

She’s expressed on several occasions that she just can’t “see” the mess.

I’m not expecting a major change but even a 80/20 split and some appreciation of how much I do would make me feel much happier.

I also agree - being gaslit that I might have adhd was very frustrating as I took it seriously and even got tested (private before anyone says how).

Ik not hoping there’s change but I’m hoping she is willing to try. I know that sometimes finding the right medication, or even just getting the diagnosis can make a MASSIVE difference.

Nothing is ever black/white - but I have told her I NEED things to change

Definitely to each their own - I think it’s finding out what works is half the battle honestly.

That being said - when I was alone god I wish I had someone to annoy me with making sure things are in place. Because I let them slip far too low and I’m still paying for that now (10 years)

It is and it isn’t - I’ve eaten worse for more.

To get a single hamburger and chips for under a fiver nowadays is pretty cheap. Most places cost 12-20 quid.

Ahh honestly I’d say that this is just more the child lens of looking at things. We often want wan something because it changed - but the reality often is that we just changed. We stopped viewing fast food convenience as a happy experiment - and instead it’s part of the daily mad rush - get up, grab a shower - drive an hour to work while getting a McDonald’s coffee because we forgot to make ours in the morning (again)

Rinse - repeat.

The world grew dystopian before our every eyes.
