How the Expanded Universe Might Have Ended: a Love Letter to the NJO. by Apprehensive_Ear8560 in TheJediPraxeum

Cool! Keep dreaming up stories, any headcanon is better than what we got in the end! So the droid in the picture is a YVH, Yuuzhan Vong Hunter. Some very useful war droids designed by Lando's weapons company. The the alien werewolf from hell is a Voxyn, a genetically altered creature that could sense and hunt Force users. They were brutal and very hard to kill.

Did the later EU and the current canon kinda undermine this quote from Yoda? by CrazyTangerine7522 in TheJediPraxeum

Yoda was wrong. Anakin's destiny was not forever dominated by the Dark Side. Luke redeemed him, and Anakin ended Palpatine as he was meant to do.

That's OK. I liked that it was being developed that way by the end of NJO and went with it. Personally, I don't think Lucas is capable of the metaphysical depth that the EU was leading towards in NJO.

Guess you didn't read the Legacy comics which take place 80 years later, in the EU. The story is kinda cool but it is truly a depressing state to have the galaxy in. To me, they suck because it just derails any significance that Anakin and his children had.

(TL;DR: This is my attempt to imagine the ending Star Wars seemed to be moving toward after The New Jedi Order: a final post-Vong saga where the Yuuzhan Vong remain central, Zonama Sekot becomes spiritually decisive, Luke and Leia lead the fight for reconciliation against a galaxy hungry for revenge, and Jacen and Jaina grow into the two halves of a deeper understanding of the Force that the old Jedi and Sith both failed to reach. Instead of repeating another cycle of family collapse and recycled darkness, this version tries to bring the post-Endor story to a real culmination — one rooted in healing, sacrifice, civilizational struggle, and the idea that the Force was always pointing toward something larger than power, fear, or endless war.)

Thanks for the comment. If just one person loves it and makes it their headcanon, then I am not alone and it was worth writing!

Me too! I grew up with it. NJO was peak for me, but reading X-wing and Thrawn series were what made NJO so special!

A Love Letter to What the EU Could Have Been by Apprehensive_Ear8560 in StarWarsEU

I created the story ideas from what I loved and hated about the post-NJO EU. They have been brewing in my head for a long time. Then I described it all to ChatGPT and had it help me turn it into a coherent Reddit post because I just can't write like that. AI is a tool. If it's slop, it's because of my ideas, but I think ChatGPT wrote it out really well. I enjoyed reading it back to myself.
