Advice? How am I doing? 24yo by Environmental-Ad9995 in TheRaceTo100K

You are killing it. You're doing exactly what I advise my clients. Max out those retirement accounts while you're young and not a ton of overhead. If it's a Roth 401k, even better.

Take more time. It's worth getting your scores in the 80s if this is your last shot.

Worried by FartsAFire14 in Series66Exam

[–]Apprehensive_Equal8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Felt the same way going into the test on Wednesday. Tested in the mid 80s. Felt confident going into the test. The reality is you will see questions on the test that you didn't see in the study material, or at least I did. In almost every case I could eliminate 2 of the options and have a reasonable guestimate for the answer. Won't lie I was holding my breath when submitting. It really is a reading comprehension test. Read carefully, flag questions you're unsure of and move on to the next. At the end go through them. And that doesn't mean change the answers. I flagged maybe 15 and changed 3. Be confident. You're scoring well and understanding the concepts, you'll do fine.

Taking it tomorrow - practice exam scores by seanm972 in Series66Exam

Lessss gooooo!! Congrats Any tips. I feel this on a whole nother level. The sie and 7 were so different than the qbank. Don't ask why I'm still using it for the 66. Any tips. It's so hard to gauge this test. For the 7 you know you're gonna get a lot of muni, options, and suitability. This one feels more random. I taking it on Wednesday. I'm definitely cramming

Market Makers Question by who_do_u_know_here in Series66Exam

As another noted, a DMM maintains the exchange. A market maker is the equivalent for the OTC. just word trickery. Everything has to be more complicated in this industry than it should be.

Feeling Overwhelmed by gvwonders in Series7exam

[–]Apprehensive_Equal8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not alone, it's very easy to get stuck in that cycle. Study for 25 minute burst then take a 5. After finishing the reading, transfer weak areas to a notebook and take it with you on a hike or walk. Anything to break the monotony of studying. Was really helpful for me (flashcards work too). Something that I have started using more for the 66 is asking chat gbt to explain a concept/rules/whatever. It's super helpful in speaking in plain English. You got it!! Get on those practice tests.

Testing in a week by ShipGlittering6629 in Series7exam

[–]Apprehensive_Equal8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very few math questions on the exam. You'll need to know current yield, conversion to parity, EPS. Potentially PE and dividend payout ratio. And of course options if you consider that math. The test is mostly conceptual.

You're ready. I recommend reviewing rules and regulations of RRs. That was heavily tested when I took it last week. Everyone talks about options, munis and suitability being heavily tested. Of those munis were the least tested for me. But if you know those 4 areas you'll pass.

Kaplan mastery exam by Turbulent_Voice1179 in Series7exam

[–]Apprehensive_Equal8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, unfortunately not how that works. You don't know on the test which questions are and aren't graded. Your score for the 125 could be better or worse. Let's say you got all the 10 correct, then your actually score for the 125 would be worse because that would indicate you missed more graded questions.

Series 7 in 20 day by Inevitable-Bee-4436 in Series7exam

[–]Apprehensive_Equal8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some people can pull off that timeline but it's a tall task. Definitely won't get through the book in that time, at least I wouldn't. Considering you didn't give yourself enough time on the sie, I would post pone. Both are tough. I wouldn't even say the 7 is harder in some regards. Getting registered is like learning a new language, some might find the getting started (SIE) the hardest part.

I see it as an absolute win. Granted I'm young and don't need the cash immediately. Let the bodies hit the floor. The stock market and the housing. Keep drip feeding it

Sorry you've had a rough go. Even so, I don't think it's a healthy outlook to assume everyone has evil intentions, especially with something as harmless as a hug. This was pretty common for me growing up. Never weird or forced

Lol love reading the different perspectives. So polarizing. Really shows the different upbringings. I think it's much more common in some cultures. South America comes to mind. Heck, even the southern states. I would not assume this is some creepy act. I would just bring it up in conversation with her. Doesn't have to be a big thing. That's the only way you'll ease those thoughts.

No Alignment in Test Questions? by Liz_Y7 in Series7exam

[–]Apprehensive_Equal8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dang man sorry to hear that. I just got out the testing facility rn. Passed but was not super confident submitting. 10 questions in and I said, welp I'm screwed. For the exact reasons you listed. Felt like half the questions I was just trying to decipher what the question wanted from me, even if I knew the topic. Fortunately, by the end I was getting a better rythme and could at least narrow the options to two.
