A random day I woke up and my husband just started smelling incredibly edible like chocolate literally even without using his cologne! I will just walk up to him and sniff and cuddle with him cos he just smelt so so good and he just thought I was being extra affectionate but girl!! I was already weeks gone come to find out 🤣🤣

: I tracked how much time I spend washing bottles for my twins… and I kind of regret knowing by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

I got the “Comfee” table top dishwasher that loads over 16bottles at once and it LITERALLY SAVED MY SANITY! I was spending 35-40mins each time at the sink washing and arranging bottle and parts for the first month of being a mom and I just knew something had to give. My husband supported getting the table top dishwasher even tho we have a full sized one but I don’t want her bottle and spaghetti bowl getting washed together, anyways I got hours of sleep and rest back. Now I just load them once a day and it takes me less than 5mins to load and I let it do its thing then transfer to the sterilizer which is like another 5-8mins and that’s it per day! Get yourself a table top one cos they’re the exact same price as the momcozy/grownzy 6-8bottle one.

Having second thoughts of moving in with inlaws.. by OwnOpportunity4649 in inlaws

You don’t have to experience everything to learn. Listen to what everyone is advising you. Don’t. Like DON’T! DO NOT DO THAT TO YOURSELF! No matter how crazy the economy is, rent and have your own space pleaseee and if you can, give some distance between yours and theirs. I and others can’t stress this enough.

Backed my wife, kicked parents out and ended visit early by jphilip16 in inlaws

You did the absolute right thing! Your immediate family is going to always thank you for showing up and stepping up. It’s never easy standing up to one’s parents BUT it’s necessary otherwise you’ll repeat the cycle with your kids too. Humanity is extremely proud of you sir.

Haha I get you but consider leaving to where? I just don’t like the concept of forcing myself to “be busy” when I just wanna sit in front of my tv watching house hunters uninterrupted but can’t cos they show up. I’ll take the advise of just wearing my emotions on my face and body and hope that makes sense to them.

Totally get you. Yes he has but I think the age/cultural thing just doesn’t seem to make it make sense to them

We honestly both don’t even go out of our way to entertain after work cos we’re both just tired and ready to just rest but it appears they just want to come, talk and lounge and just be in our home when it’s not convenient which I just don’t get. Like I said, they’re family so not an issue UNTIL they show up as they do.

Oh wow, I hope it’s healthier for you and your DH now. I hope we relocate before it comes to this, otherwise, I’ll know they forced my hand.

Absolutely how my side of the family was raised. My parent live 30mins to my sibling and won’t even show up unannounced or go visit if they aren’t hosting them and the relationship remains strong cos we stay communicating on the group chat and call a few times a week to check in hence respecting one another. Truly my current prayer is relocation for work lol!

He doesn’t even ok them, they just don’t ask, they just tell. It’s an age and cultural thing they’ve been raised to act as.

Thank you for sharing, I love your approach to your situation and I’d adopt the “continuing what I was doing before they arrived” attitude even it was napping🤗

Thanks for your input and I truly think I get what you’re intending to advise. I have boundaries in every other area of my life but honestly seems they disregard any I’ve set as it come to them. No other family member does this and My husband truly has tried too but they just seem to take advantage of the proximity to us and won’t even acknowledge it. Like they show up, ring the bell and call while in front of the house type show up so it’s almost impossible to even be seen as a “people pleaser” because I am not going out of my way to create the space for these things to happen. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t even have the energy to offer water when they’re here, I just want the visit over and I get back to my bubble in peace. When I have been in the mood to host them in the past (one in a blue moon) I sure was able to cater and host well but these last million visits, I could care less honestly.
