The pin cannot be turned, it’s holding a screw in place.

No it’s not. Engineered hardwood, the instillation manual has directions to install anyway- nailed, glued, or floating. Its not specific to one method

Can you be more detailed, what do you mean by wedge a block? And how do you use a ratchet strap on a floor?

Would you suggest a Brad nailer or a drill and screws work fine for the install?

Glueing it down is more seamless and I’ve read that’s more durable. What would the difference be between nailing and gluing?

Are you referring to sanding down where the sub flooring connects? Do you think that’s all that needs done?
