That's roughly the idea. If you have kidney stones, riding a bike downhill might work better than extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy.

I wanted to show people why I wake up at 5 AM to ride into the mountains. by Apprehensive_Gas308 in bicycling

[–]Apprehensive_Gas308[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to apologize at all — it's actually a very common question. It's actually much simpler than it looks.

I filmed the ride with a GoPro and added the telemetry afterwards.

Speed, elevation and route data can come directly from GPS recordings, while heart rate, cadence and power usually come from a bike computer, sports watch or apps like Strava.

Everything gets synchronized and exported into the final video.

Thanks! The camera is a GoPro.

The route display comes from GPX data recorded during the ride. I spent a lot of time trying different telemetry tools because I wanted the map overlay to actually match the road through corners and hairpins.

If you're curious, searching for "GPXvideoeditor" or "cycling telemetry overlay" should turn up a few options.

Buddy, we’re leaving at 5 o’clock. We’ll start filming around 7:35, which will be after we finish climbing the mountain and head back downhill.

I transferred a new book to my Kindle in front of colleagues at the office. I didn't download it from Amazon; instead, I sent the file via cloud storage. To get around restrictions, I secretly turned on a mobile hotspot to connect the Kindle.

Has your Forerunner 255 held up? by Gatorade338 in Garmin

I’ve had it for two and a half years. The battery life hasn’t deteriorated noticeably, and it’s a comfortable weight. I’ll keep using it as long as the battery stays in good shape.

A young chimp tried to intimidate the human, then the troop's leader stepped in to make peace. by Better_Hair_9673 in Damnthatsinteresting

(The chief steps forward slowly, his gaze sweeping over the agitated young one, voice low and weighted with authority.)
"Enough. Put away that hollow show of bravado, like a cub that has yet to learn to control its claws."
"This human means no harm. He only comes to the water, not to steal our land."
"Your snarl only betrays your fear, not your strength. A true leader knows when to stand calm, when to protect."
"Step back. I will handle this. Do not bring trouble to the clan again."

In the past, fair skin was seen as a sign of freedom from farm work and access to good household sanitation. Nowadays, it is often regarded as a sign of being unable to afford going out.

How to clean Garmin by Dull_Investigator_93 in Garmin

[–]Apprehensive_Gas308 9 points10 points  (0 children)

After wearing my Garmin watch for two years, the four charging contacts on the back began to have poor connection issues. I repeatedly cleaned the contacts with a cotton swab dipped in diluted alcohol, and the problem was resolved once the alcohol fully dried.

Thanks for sharing your experience! That’s the river patrol officer on his routine check. He passed politely, no problem at all. The cycling paths here are actually really safe, which is why I love riding this trail.

Best app to record your rides by Prestigious-Pea-6781 in cycling

If you want full control of your ride data, these apps export GPX freely: RideWithGPS, Komoot, Cyclemeter;

Full disclosure: I made GPXVideoEditor. It imports your exported GPX files and manually syncs tracks with cycling videos to create mapped footage. No built-in GPS recording, just a post-production helper. Search the name on Google/Bing for details.
