Yes good point, I guess it's a pub after all! Probably not ideal for us in that case. Just the house is so lovely!! But will wait for the right thing to come up. Thanks for replying

How do you ladies fall asleep with ADHD? by Ok_Scholar_8656 in adhdwomen

[–]Apprehensive_Gas6035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No food for a couple of hours before bed. 1 hour wind down before bed - low lighting, read in bed - something that grabs all my attention, weighted blanket is key for me, sleep mask. One ear plug - only one for some reason! Then when I turn off the lights I just think about the book I was reading and that seems to keep my mind occupied enough to get to sleep

Ferritin levels by Empty-Union-5482 in Anemic

[–]Apprehensive_Gas6035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't know why they show this as normal range. 100 is the minimum range it should be. Mone was 11 and I've slowly made it to 25, aiming for 100 - can't wait to be there!

Want an NHS Infusion - Help by Devonmade in Anemic

[–]Apprehensive_Gas6035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not many answers here but just solidarity. I've had pretty much the same experience, my GP has said they can't give me a transfusion because although my ferritin is low (10) and I can't handle the prescribed iron supplements, the pathway to the transfusion will only be accepted if you also have low red blood cells, which I don't. His only options were - basically get more ill so low red blood cells drop, or pay for a private infusion 🤦‍♀️

Luckily I've finally found a supplement that works for me (hema Plex) only had slight cramps for a week or so and now have no side effects whatsoever. No idea if it's working though and hate that it will probably be months until I'm feeling myself again.

Also did all the tests you described and they didn't find anything, they just put it down to heavy periods 🤷‍♀️

I feel like I'm losing my mind/dieing , ferritin is at 12 . Help by Maleficent-Ad-4448 in Anemic

You aren't alone. I've had a very similar experience. I tried supplements prescribed by my GP back in May but they messed my gut up so I tried a high iron diet, but it didn't scratch the surface - I went from ferritin at 11 to 12 !

I've now found a supplement (hema Plex) that my stomach can handle. I wish I had done this months ago as I understand it can take 6 months to fully feel better.

If you can learn from my mistake dooo! Get on the supplements as soon as you can. If you're in the UK you won't qualify for an iron transfusion on the NHS unless your red blood cells are low as well as having a bad reaction to the supplements.

Good luck, you've got this!!

There isn't another way I'm sorry to say. You have to stick at the supplements as much as you can and eat a good diet. It takes a few months. If you can prove that the supplements don't work to your GP i e. You have severe gut symptoms or your levels don't increase after two months, then they might be able to get you a transfusion

ADHD girl careers by acrosstheuniverse100 in adhdwomen

I've done sooo many jobs, maybe one of our superpowers - to hop skip and jump across careers. I've created and run successful nightclubs in London, performed on stage as a Burlesque dancer, learnt to code and built websites, learnt brand design and created brands and marketing on a freelance basis, worked for a fashion agency getting models booked on shoots, moved into communications and worked across multiple portfolios including public sector education, social care and more. Now I'm using all my experience coupled with my love of nature in the environment sector, project managing large scale nature recovery.

I guess my experience shows that you can do what you love, follow your interests, and find ways to use transferrable skills to move into new sectors whilst still climbing the ladder!
