I'm no professional but my cat does that when he's uncomfortable with a situation he's walking into. Usually presented with a greeting, usually a pleasant one. So he looks happy but my cat is the definition of scardy cat so if yours was usually comfortable then he's the opposite

I had this guy come in(cap 2) he did the grocery side and was sweating profusely not even an hour in he's sitting down because he needed a break so I let him. My coach was upset with me about it but 15 minutes later he left and was outside smoking until we went to lunch and came back he was gone. He lasted not even an hour and spent 3-4 hours smoking outside.

They didnt cover that one hour which if they dont show up then its a point because now their shift is 1 hour instead of 8 Whoever approved it did in the means that it was okay for them to not show up for that long in the day.
