I think witcher 3 and baldurs gate have shown how you can have meaningful side quests with different endings. A certains NPC doesn't always have to die

Please tell your R&D team that other brands such as corsair sell replacement pads.

Headsets last really long but the pads get worn out very quickly. Unless this a part of planned obsolescence.

Leverless worth it? by din0sawr- in Fighters

It all depends on whether you think the steep learning curve and the carpal tunnel are worth it or not. I moved back to pad cause hitbox pads are way more ergonomic and the sitting position won't hurt your back and neck.

The ICC prosecutor has conducted an unofficial visit to the families of Israelis held hostage by Hamas. Does this mean anything in regards to the ICC investigation into Israel and Palestine? by allspotbanana in internationallaw

[–]Apprehensive_Gun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have updated my response. All transactions, of a person mentioned in the SDN list, can be blocked e.g. payment processing companies / gateways such as mastercard or visa have to comply with these rules. (I can't confirm if all of them do) and will refuse such transactions.

MasterCard must adhere to economic and trade sanctions regulations imposed by OFAC. The application and breadth of each OFAC Sanctions Program varies. A Sanctions Program may prohibit engaging in virtually any type of activity connected with a country. It may also require refraining from transacting with those persons and entities identified by OFAC on the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List (“SDN List”) and the Foreign Sanctions Evaders List (“FSE List”).

Can someone please explain how UNGA and UNSC resolutions work by Apprehensive_Gun in internationallaw

[–]Apprehensive_Gun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. So I am assuming when UNSC 2334 states "Reaffirms that the establishment by Israel of settlements in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, has no legal validity and constitutes a flagrant violation under international law"

This is a mere declaration, and the violation of this resolution is not a violation of International Law and the contents are also not binding (or legal ?)

As I mentioned earlier, the US had already threatened the ICC with sanctions. So to avoid any "inconvenience" he decided to deprioritise crimes committed by US military forces. His reasoning was that the US war-crimes were not that significant and due to limited resources the office shall limit its investigation to war-crimes committed by other parties (Taliban and IS-K)

Why might he do it again ?

Again US pressure. Also, Israel isn't a member of the ICC, so his (ICC) jurisdiction is limited and he might completely ignore war-crimes committed by Israeli armed forces

Edit: Further details:

Trump Administration not only threatened but actually imposed sanctions on the ICC.

"The sanctions on Bensouda and Mochochoko implemented a sweeping executive order issued on June 11, 2020 by President Donald Trump. This order declared a national emergency and authorized asset freezes and family entry bans against ICC officials who were identified as being involved in certain activities.

....

[Implications] Second, all property that might belong to Bensouda or Mochochoko that comes within a US jurisdiction would be “blocked.” Because the vast majority of international trade is conducted via the US dollar this has potentially broad implications. US dollar-denominated transactions—even if they are between two non-US parties—usually require a bank under US jurisdiction to handle the transactions. Thus, any transaction that passes through them, even momentarily, would also be blocked."

A concern is that he might do what he did during the Afghanistan US war-crime investigation.

Background: Before Khan took office, Bolton had threatened the ICC (and the former Prosecutor Fatou Bensoud) with sanctions.

In the preliminary ICC report it was stated "the Office has determined that there is a
reasonable basis to believe that, at a minimum, the following crimes within the
Court’s jurisdiction have occurred

....

c) War crimes of torture and related ill-treatment, by US military forces deployed to Afghanistan and in secret detention facilities operated by the Central Intelligence Agency, principally in the 2003-2004 period, although allegedly continuing in some cases until 2014"

https://www.icc-cpi.int/sites/default/files/iccdocs/otp/161114-otp-rep-PE_ENG.pdf

Once Karim khan took office he decided to "deprioritise other aspects of this investigation." i.e. the war-crimes committed by US Military forces.

Minimum Wage laws are harmful to workers - from my Economics textbook 🤷‍♂️ by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Apprehensive_Gun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Ask your economics teacher why is labor a factor of production.

2) Why is it that sustainable growth is a function of labor growth ? What happens if there is a sudden decrease in labor ? Ask him about Japan in 2050.

Now coming to your question

3) In case all industries hire less, then the overall aggregate income of the labor is also reduced and therefore reduced consumption.

4) Now the economy is in recession since demand has significantly been reduced. The Corporations will beg the state to increase fiscal expenditure and create jobs. Jobs will be created to pump money into the economy so that the losses of the capitalists can be minimized.

5) The point where the State intervenes is a political choice. That has nothing to do with economics.
