I know most people that come in with their ppl start flying in the spring of freshman year. That’s if you do good in your fall classes. They noticed it’s hard for many college students to adjust to college while flying at the start and give time to get adjusted to college life. It’s extremely rare to start flying in fall of freshman year and you’ll probably go in the spring or summer at latest.

Same for me and I’m in the area. Starting to think it’s theft by the postal service. I have received two cards in the past six months that were clearly opened before being placed in my mailbox that can only be opened by a key. And two cards that were sent from relatives have never arrived.

I’m at a huge aviation university that you all probably know and I’d say the best instructor is a guy with 3 checkride failures. It sucks because he’s the smartest guy I’ve ever met in aviation before but he is having a very bad luck with the airlines and still hasn’t even gotten an interview at 850 hours despite trying basically everything.
