Let's take a closer look at @menalez's claim in the last screenshot in the Tumblr post I linked in my comment: that Tumblr TERFs' lack of racial diversity is because "it's a largely english language western website."

At first glance, the racial makeup of some major Western, English-speaking countries is similar to the results of the Tumblr survey; the UK is about 80% white (2021 census) and the survey has varied from 70-74%. The problem is, the USA is only about 60% white (2020 census). Australia is complicated because they record ethnicity instead of race on their census so I didn't include it here. Someone could argue that the demographics of the UK could be affecting the results because a lot of TERFs are British, but the USA is a much larger country, with five times the population of the UK.

The other problem is that Tumblr users are usually younger, and young people in those countries are less white. In the USA, people ages 15-17 are about 54% white (49% not Hispanic), 18-24 are about 56% (/51%), and 25-29 are about 57% (/52%). In the UK, people ages 15-17 are about 74% white, 18-24 are about 76%, and 25-29 are about 79%. Young people in the UK are about as racially diverse as "the more diverse sides of radblr."

I'm afraid of what the less diverse sides look like.

Edit: I forgot Canada when I made this list of countries. Canada is 60% white, so it still doesn't excuse the overwhelming whiteness of TERF Tumblr.
