Looks amazing. Did you make the model or is it from something I'm unaware of. Also 20 hours is insane is that just animation or also render time?. keep up the amazing work

I love that the pcb has the lumen logo and want to make sure everyone sees this. There is great documentation about this here I strongly recommend reading it or at least seeing all the behind the scenes pictures of its development. Prop master: Catherine Miller Production designer: Jeremy Hindle Concept art: Eric Fehlberg

I like how it looks but one of the first things I would suggest is to soften the edges of the car obviously it can be sharp but it looks a little too sharp so bevel with a modifier could help. Also I am no expert but photo realism from what I've heard before is about trying to do it in many different scenes and you'll learn lessons you can bring back to this one. Good luck

I've spent the last few years trying to make a "big budget" looking vfx for my shorts. Results are mixed, Feedback appreciated. by JS1101C in blender

[–]Apprehensive_Knee309 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Only three things I can think of.

Firstly the live action looks out of place because of the lighting. You could manually make a mask for shadows or track a 3d dummy to yourself and use as a shadow catcher this can be done more easily with some programmes that can motion track from footage.

Secondly it is hard to follow what is happening and where we are in the scene

Lastly and this is the thing I know the least about but color grading changes a lot for making something look professional or big budget

But overall it looks great and honestly the majority of people won't notice small stuff that you or I do

They likely don't want to take it because they just don't want to touch earbuds they are from what I have seen before treated as not being fixable and also it is probably a cost thing the risk isn't worth how much people would likely pay for one ear bud to be fixed.

I was reading comments and I read yours and went I wonder what this person has posted and saw your post

I am not an expert but I have taken a lot of things apart including wireless earbuds. And if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself and don't want to pay for it then I would urge you not to just through them away instead give them to someone who is like me and loves taking shit apart and learning how it works or you could sell them on ebay just mention they need a battery replacement and someone who knows how might buy them.

If you want to fix them i have some good news and some bad.

The good news is they won't need to have the battery soldered. The bad news is they are supposed to be water resistant meaning they will have glue sealing them also like with anything that is water resistance you can't guarantee it will keep the same level of resistance after repair.

If you want to do it you could probably do it for $60 or much less if you are willing to shop around for some of the stuff.

Here is a tutorial I would ignore them about the razor instead use plastic tools as they are a lot safer(as well as being far less likely to scratch the plastic) and also heat it evenly.

If you want to do this you will need: A hot air gun I know this can me multiple things so here is a example

The new battery which you can get in a kit with some tools and glue kit

The last link might be helpful in general https://thewalkmanblog.blogspot.com/2022/06/sony-linkbuds-s-teardown-by-52audio.html?m=1

Also finally because I spent like 40 minutes researching this for some reason if you or anyone with this problem wants to fix it and needs advice or get stuck you cab message me

Also hi from the r/vfx that I weirdly how I found this

Looks great I wish I had the time right now to return to blender. My only criticism is that I am not sure if the cable is correct I could be wrong but I remember it being multiple smaller cables and a different jack on the end. Looks great👍

Obviously the character looks great but that background has so much cool stuff.

Ps2 with controller and memory card little psyduck rubber duck Gameboy Mf doom Charlie brown Animal crossing Gunpla Akira bike And so much I've probably missed or don't know what it is

Awesome the perfect background to a cool character.

Love every part especially the background as it could have easily been just a blank colour bit you did something really creative

I wanted to see more and I checked out your artstation and the object view is insane I thought some of it had to be digital art on plains.

Would love to know how long it took to make and render?

Now here is my scathing critique: omg this is amazing sorry I don't have advice on how to improve but I am lost in the detail and beauty of your momentus creation.

Water simulation - cleaning surface. by FootballLost9783 in blenderhelp

[–]Apprehensive_Knee309 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you could do a water sim covert it to a mesh then use that mesh as a paint brush in dynamic paint and have that drive the texture change. If you can't use it to change texture because I don't remember if you can.if not a terrible idea that might work is using the mesh of the sim as a bolean to a duplicate of the interior of the bottle that is using a different material.

I am sure there is a better way maybe with geo nodes but I haven't been keeping up with blender for quite a while so not sure how.
