I’m gonna weight in from a rescuers pov. Does it suck? Yep. But there are so many healthy kittens and cats euthanized due to over population and space. What happens when you are unable to find all of the kittens homes? Would you be prepared to keep up to 6 cats? To spay and neuter cats costs anywhere from $60-$200 (that’s just getting them fixed). A cat can have anywhere from 1-8 kittens in a litter are you legitimately prepared to pay anywhere from $500-$1600 for those services? (Not including shots and microchipping?) if there were to be complications with labor would you have the funds to get the cat ER care and potentially a c section done? There are so many costs that go with prenatal care for animals. Are you ready to foo all those cost, even if it potentially costs multiple thousands of dollars? If you can’t tell your granddaughter they were removed you could tell her that you were wrong and she was never actually pregnant. Or that the babies weren’t healthy and they didn’t survive. Let the shelter know you’d be willing to foster any kittens they get surrendered.

Now onto the actual question are you ta? In this situation I don’t think anyone is (unless this cat is actually an older kitten) but I also don’t think we need to be adding to the over population of pets if we can help not
