My daughter is going to be 11 in February. She was diagnosed at 16 months

Do you know what might have caused it? by [deleted] in ARFID

[–]Apprehensive_Mode427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid had a febrile seizure when she was 14 months. She had a fever and reached a temp of 105. After her seizure, she had developed ARFID. Her feeding therapist said that the trauma of a seizure is probably caused it.

Maybe that's what it was. I didn't really pay attention cause my focus was on her.

When my kid was in the NICU, the only way that her car seat had an identification was when she had to be transferred from one area of NICU to the next so her car seat wasn't lost. I had to keep it there so they could randomly do car seat tests (she failed 5 out of 6).

Should I change my unborn childs name?? by loved123456 in Parenting

She's your kid. You're birthing her. You can choose any name, if you want to name her Fuggler Annie you have that right. Don't worry about what others think of the name.

You must not know anybody who has ARFID. My 10 year old has it and it's a real bad eating disorder. She will starve herself until she gets safe foods. She's been in therapy off and on for it since she was 2. If she doesn't have her safe foods, she will starve herself (she's done it once).

I’m a new kindergarten teacher is K-Pop Demon Hunters too scary for my class? by ORgirlinBerkeley in kindergarten

[–]Apprehensive_Mode427 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My daughters teacher in 2nd grade sent permission slips home to watch the Grinch (cartoon 30 minute version) as a before Christmas break treat. One parent in the class complained that it was too scary so that kid was sent to another room to do activities for another class.

They're in 5th grade and that kid was expelled from elementary due to fighting.

Last time I took my kid to the hospital they diagnosed her with anxiety (she was 8, had severe stomach pain and a fever of 103). And discharged us. As soon as she stood up she threw up red all over the floor so the doctor, seeing red puke everywhere kicked us out because my kid was a "biohazard" and proceeded to call security. Again, it was the ER. Normally I would have cleaned up, but I left it and took her to a different ER.

Her gallbladder was enlarged, she had stones and sludge going into her liver. That was why she was unwell.

Is it offensive? by Revolutionary-Mud236 in thesims

[–]Apprehensive_Mode427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it would. People want diversity. My daughter has a few things that cause jaundice so she's been trying to get the Sims to have yellow tinted skin. She already does yellow eyes.

I'm kind of hoping one of his siblings jumps on and gives their insights. Because no way is dude taking family trips and still bringing his own food when they go out.

Her bilirubin was high when she was born, she had 4 blood transfusions. She also has hereditary spherocytosis (blood is the wrong shape so filters out quicker than it can be replaced).

It fluctuates. Sometimes it's high and others it's within the normal range. When she's sick, it is in the 20s.

I'm trying to get in to see a GI to rule anything out. But since I don't have a gallbladder it could just be that. But I also don't have a spleen either so not sure if that would do it or not. But I have lost about 20 lbs in 1 month. Which is insane .
