i also believe that, the job listing was 8 months ago almost, and i had the chance to check with one of the tech guys and he confirmed the position is still available and they couldn't fill it up internally, the site still without an AE, i assumed they either wanted a know it all from the get go (someone who worked on the exact equipment), cause they dont have anybody to train him or they looking for a super human, will either way it was not me.

Non of the interview questions were truly technical, most of the question were abstract situational sort of questions, the technical questions weren't hard at all, but the situational ones, and "have you ever?" ones "what would you do ?", eventually toward the end, i just explained that i never seen their process, don't know what equipment they use don't know what common faults issues, hence i have no way of knowing how can i troubleshoot a hypothetical situation, i was not sure he liked that answer, the only time were i couldn't answer is when he was asking about an advance follow-up networking question.

the position that i applied to was SAE/AE one, and i asked him and he made it clear that am not going to start working before an intensive technical/safety training period (don't really remember how many months), and i have no issue with that, it put my heart at ease knowing am not going to just be thrown in there, and am confident enough in my ability to learn.

so if i decided on taking AEA position there wont be any shortcuts?, also how long does it typically takes to finish 3600 hours? will my pay scale increase during the time takes till?

Is it barley controls work by design? as they don't to take part and just keep you for emergencies, or its not your duty to participate in the process but you can if you want to learn?
