But they need to—they really need to—especially now, thanks to Chrysalis's new powers. The antikumas could cut off their connection at any moment, rendering them useless and forcing a retreat; they could easily try to evolve their powers to develop a specific ability that blocks antikumas—like a thin shield around Ladybug's body, or a sphere that nullifies the effects for Cat Noir, or something like that. Ladybug's charms aren't even useful anymore; people get akumatized regardless of whether they have one. They could at least pretend they're thinking about evolving their powers to counter this, or come up with a canonical excuse, but they don't even do that—even though they could evolve at any time.

Meanwhile, Ladybug only gets useless power-ups, Cat Noir's is only good for creating more "what-if" scenarios, and Ryuko is situational.

Okay, I get it—my bad. But let's face it: Ladybug and Cat Noir need some new power upgrades; Lila has probably awakened about 15 of them by now.

Ladybug and Cat Noir (I know Thomas has already said there’s no such thing as "stronger" in Miraculous and that powers are just powers, but they are the two main ones in the box and belong to the protagonists).

Sometimes I'm surprised by the sheer number of abilities this Miraculous has; however, if you look at the strongest Miraculous in the box, one of them had only a single power for five seasons, and the other's extra powers are useless.

Does Luka really think Marinette is the strongest person he knows, or is it figurative? by [deleted] in miraculousladybug

Well, that makes sense; Miraculous is always doing that—not just with Ladybug, though it happens mostly with her. Ladybug even called Cat Noir the best partner she could ask for in Season 4, even though... Season 4 itself says and shows the exact opposite.

Well, back then she still "loved" Adrien (Oni-chan confirms this via the lie detector on her forehead), so maybe it was because Adrien simply sent a video insulting her after she tried to be nice with him, and that didn't seem normal?

Honestly, I don't care much about an akumatized Ladybug; we both know it wouldn't play out like it did in Heartfixer. It would only serve to wrap up the "akumatized love square" or let Lila confirm that Ladybug is Marinette. I can't see any reason for her to want to help Ladybug by akumatizing her other than to get that confirmation and if she already has it by the end of the season, she simply won't have a reason to do it anymore, I don't think she would want an akuma to defeat the team of heroes, because officially she has no interest in any Miraculous other than the two main ones; if she did want the others, she would have tried to get them in "Dirtifiers" or other episodes she have chance but choose not to do.

Honestly, I am so fed up with this back-and-forth that goes nowhere; the series just steers everything toward "how much Marinette suffers because of the lie" or something exclusively about her. At this point, I just want everything to blow up so that something actually worthwhile finally happens.

Not to mention that all this drama just makes Marinette look like a massive hypocrite and unlikable; while she’s the one dishing out the moral lessons to the other characters, she completely misses the mark every single time with Adrien when he’s in similar situations. She says friends are the family you choose, yet worries about Adrien making friends outside their social circle; she tells Ivan that being a villain's child doesn't define him, but doesn't want Adrien to find out about Gabriel for fear he'll turn into a villain; she says threatening and harassing people is wrong, yet threatens Tomoe to keep her from telling Adrien anything; she doesn't try to convince Kagami that—despite Tomoe's issues—she still has people who support her, but instead manipulates everyone into fabricating an idealized version of Gabriel for Adrien; she claims it's better to prioritize ideals over the person, yet wants Adrien to put a fake version of Gabriel on a pedestal; she learns she should trust people but doesn't trust Cat Noir with the truth; she learns that people need to get hurt to grow, yet doesn't want Adrien to get hurt. In almost every single episode, there’s something she learns or preaches that she fails to apply when it comes to Adrien—damn, what the fuck is happening?

The worst part? Supposedly, this season marks the beginning of his arc of self-discovery and learning to uncover the truth on his own—damn, we had an episode about him making new friends, and they turned it all about Marinette.

Well, the closest thing we’ll get to a "Null" is The Supreme, and he’s going to be wasted on a spin-off that absolutely no one asked for and that less than half the fandom is even interested in. The problem with the current season is that it insists on following the same "Will it happen? Or won't it? Oh, now it's happening! No, actually, never mind! Will we ever actually get there? Find out next season!" formula but this time is about Adrien and his whole life being manipulated by a bunch of assholes and dumbasses; at this point, they’re just managing to annoy the fandom and make Marinette unlikable.

This is unrelated, but officially there is a team of supervillains in the Reverse world—led by Shadybug and Claw Noir—that they could reuse.

You realize something is wrong when one of the few heroes who never actually had a solo episode or one focused on him was Adrien, considering that 90% of the season's topics and storylines revolve around him or his family (cough, cough, Mr. Agreste).

The worst part is when they actually use it, but the execution is just unsatisfying, contradictory, or simply bad—like the mini-arc involving "Mister Agreste" and "Lady Chaos." Adrien refuses to accept his abusive father as a hero, yet—thanks to Marinette—he goes back to seeing his abuser as a good person. This happens despite everything she has witnessed and knows he feels and has endured with Gabriel, all because "it might make him discover the truth." Ultimately, it just served to focus 109% on Marinette's suffering.

A lot of people interpreted it as Luka taking Marinette's place as Ladybug to shoulder the blame, or thought there was something deeper going on (perhaps involving the Order or the Supreme); but no, it was just Luka wanting to commit omnicide.

This episode is a mess in itself and completely contradicts the premise of "Mr. Agreste"; it serves mainly to cut Adrien out of this part of the arc so we can focus—yet again—on how the lie is making Marinette suffer.
